Bone Scan

Hi All,

Haven't been on the site for a while. Unfortunately I'm having a few complications. Went into hospital end of June with suspected Gall Stones after suffering with severe back pains for a week or so. Had an ultra sound (which did not show any stones). Also had an abdominal and chest x-ray (which also came back clear). The Consultant decided as a precaution I should have a bone scan. Did not hear anything for 5 weeks then out of the blue got a letter saying that an abnormality had shown up on one of then bones in my spine and that I would need an urgent MRI scan (which I had last Tuesday). I saw the Consultant before the MRI who explained that I had had 2 bone scans. One came back negetative and the other came back showing activity on the spine. He seems to think that this may be a red herring but the MRI would make a prognosis clear. He also thinks I may have a stomach ulcer which could also cause my back pain (although the pain in my back is not in the same place as the abnormality they have found). He has ordered a procedure whereby I have to swallow a small camera. This is being done on 22nd October. I have not had the results of the MRI scan yet although he did say he would ring me with the results asap. Having not heard anything yet I'm getting extremely anxious. I'm going on my hols on Friday 17th Sept (no matter what the results are, I'm going).

So sad to hear about Alan.

Take care.

Hi Jules

It must be terrible having to go through all scans. Rather than be sick with worry, go and have a good holiday Cool . Where are you going to?

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:

Hi Jules - and I thought I had a problem with just one piffling bone scan, for which I'm still awaiting results.

Take Dr. J's advice and have a great holiday. Don't forget the photo's !

Hi all,

Got the results! Good news. No signs of cancer. Bulging disc they say. Got to see a spinal specialist.

Off to have a GREAT holiday in Tenerife. Two weeks of sunshine, sea and sand (stress free).

Fingers crossed for you Pikeman.
