No - she went of her own accord. - Sorry it's an old joke.

Have a great break Dr. Joshi. Best doing it now while the flights are cheaper. MAS? a great airline.

I will be going with my family sometime towards the end of July.
Could I ask - have you heard of the supplement called "fruitforce"?

Best wishes - Tony

We are praying that all is well with your family and friends after the earthquake in Indonesia and you are able to enjoy a well-earned rest with your loved ones.

Our hearts go out to those who have been affected. Thank God for the men and women who are working tirelessly to help in that grief-stricken area.

Responding to Tony K's question about "fruitforce", it seems to be a plant extract that bases its claims on the presence of the anti-oxidant resveratrol, for which there are claims of efficacy in treating cancer and some other conditions.

It's not a new discovery - it's been known to the scientific community since 1940 under the chenical name trans-3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene. Aren't you glad you know that?

I found some apparently reputable scientific studies indicating that this substance might be helpful in certain cases, but there don't seem to have been any peer-reviewed double-blind studies of its clinical adnministration and effects of the kind that would be needed to get a drug onto the NICE or FDA approved lists as anything other than a dietary supplement.
There's a sensible article about this at
http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/resveratrol.html.

Fruitforce seems to ne a very expensive way to ingest resveratrol - perhaps a couple of glasses of red wine would be more enjoyable, and certainly cheaper! It would be worth taking it over with your oncologist and treatment team.

I am not a doctor, nor do I know anything about anything, and what I have written above is nothing more than the ignorant opinion of a foolish fellow.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the good wishes. I got back from vacation abroad 5 days ago. From the Far East tropics to a UK heat wave, it doesn't feel right! Been busy catching up with mail, work, etc and fighting off jet-lag and flu, while keeping a watchful eye! Thanks for looking after one another. If I missed any post that needs replying, please let me know (private message me).

Best wishes

Congratulations Chris. Two years have flown by for you I bet. Hope you are eating better now. I know I am and have to watch my weight now as I like being slimmer after that 64 lb weight loss. I am coming up to 4 years since surgery on July 2 too and this knowledge has somehow made me realise how I wish I had done more in the past 4 years. I have done lots but I bought that book "A 1000 Places to See Before You Die" and whilst I had been to many of them it made me realise there are many places still to explore. So we went to Prague for a week in May and just this week got back from Paris. I recall 4 years ago barely having the energy to get off the bed let alone traipse around Europe, but now I just feel I want to really go places again.
I expect Vinod will be off again before we know it.

Hello Pauline

How did you guess! I have been in Prague for the last three days attending a conference. It is a lovely place - romantic. Nice to go with your partner and wander down the endless cobbled street and alley ways trying to decide which restaurant to eat at! Every buiding is something to look at and the Charles bridge is something. Need good weather though.

Best wishes

Hello Everyone

It is time for another break, so be good. The itinerary is KL/Perth/KL/Jakarta/KL and back! My wife and I are combining a holiday to celebrate our 33rd anniversary and visiting our families. If there is any member out there who wants to meet up and say hi, let me know. Smiler

Meanwhile, take care of one another. I will still be visiting the message board, as usual. Roll Eyes

Best wishes

We'll miss you, that's for sure!

I worked in Petaling Jaya (a suburb of KL) in the late nineties for an American company - the same company that sent me to King's Lynn (Norfolk) the previous year so that I could get to know you lot.

I planned to travel when I retired and instead the company rewarded me with two years abroad right before retiring. It made all those work years worth it.

Enjoy that marvelous food in Malaysia! Best anywhere!
