There's a whole raft of folks out there looking to offer "alternative" medications.
Who knows what they are or what they do. I've considered this and come to the conclusion that the people most interested in treating and curing our cancers are the doctors we have working in our medical services. They are trained, they respect the scientific principles of double-blind testing, they study, they examine, they really want to find cures and treatments for the problems we bring to them. The 'alternative" medications I've seen don't have a research basis, don't have any published tests to support their efficacy, and are only interested in your credit card. And they are entirely self-referential. "Our treatment works because we say it does." "We did a study among our patients and 100 percent of them said they had taken our product and it didn't kill them". Yeah, right. I always ask myself when I see a new miracle treatment with apricot stones or levitated water or whatever: "If this really works, why aren't my doctors prescribing it for me?" And the same answer comes back again and again: "Because there's no medical evidence that this treats anything other than a surfeit of cash in your pocketbook". Philip in the Bay of Islands |
