Hello Juliee There is often scarring in the area adjacent to the laryngectomee owing to trauma, inflammation from the surgical access and this can cause the discomfort described. Your doctor has prescribed antibiotics thinking it might be an infection. Lets hope it resolves, but please speak to the doctors if it persists and get clear answers as to what they think it is. I am sure some members might be able to shed some light based on their experiences. Keep well.
