A break through for speechGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
Hello all, As I said in my post about "tapering off", I would only post if I had some fantastic news and I think this one can be shared with all of you'll. As you all may or may not know I have been working on a device which gives me almost normal speech. Dr. Joshi met me when it was in its natal stages. Well, after a whole lot of hits and misses - I have finally come up with two kinds of speech devices - one for those who have their larynx( tracheostomy but no speech) and the other who have no speech at all (complete larynx removed). The same were tried and tested on a few patients and surprise, surprise - it works and the voice, though husky is totally clear and sounds totally normal. My lawyers are working on it for a world wide patent and the price factor will be just great for Indian patients. I say Indian patients because they will but it at very subsidised rates but anyone out of India or any foreigner in India will have to have a prescription of an Indian doctor, practising in India to import one. As I also mentioned the price will vary. If the ones who manage to get the prescription and import the same will obviously charged the same amount(if not more) then what an Indian has to pay to import one from any country abroad. The other countries also insist that one can only export their products only if an Indian patient has the prescription of a doctor, practising in that particular country ( The UK, The US, All European countries and Australia). Then of course the payment which is phenomenal has to be made prior to the the despatch of the article which may take ages to reach and that is if one gets past obtaining the prescription from a doctor (not any doctor - but a specialist). Earlier we had decided to sell them at extremely low prices all over India without prescription as I thought I would be helping a lot of people. However, understanding the complexities and misuses - even an Indian wil have to get a prescription from a specialised doctor and can purchase only one at a time (the size etc - will have to be mentioned so that it cannot be sold in the normal market - and the initial one will have to be inserted in the hospital by the doctor). There will be a certain number given free to certain doctors who looked after me during my tenure with cancer and doing so even today. These would be for those patients who are financially down and out. The sizes would vary from kids to Adults. The reason for the prescription being compulsory and the price being high is in reciprocation of what Indians are subjected to by these Countries. To make it a little more clear - the prescription cannot be given by an Indian doctor practising in the country where it is required but only those who are here in India. To give you a rough idea on what an Indian would pay for "The Orator" will be a maximum of 10US$ (480 Rupees). The ones for export will be baseed on the same price the patients in India are charged when importing them from abroad. Well folks, thats all. Have a nice day. With love and regards from India, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal.

One more thing - the gadget, my "Orator" has been approved by the council of doctors as being totally safe and free of any complications. Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal.

Thank you everyone, However, this is only the start as the investment part has to be worked out, we then have the moulds to make for both sampling and then finalising. The moulds are not made in India but have to be imported and each mould costs the earth. We are working out the financial implications and once done and on reciept of the moulds we would begin initially the sampling and if all goes fine - manafacturing, under the most sterile conditions. However, because of the cost of the moulds we would be making the gadgets for Adults only.Later as we get the rest of the finances in order we will go ahead with the other sizes. Until later, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal.

Well done the boy! For your next project, how about something to make me look gorgeous again Seriously though Ananth, well done. I hope all the red tape and the rest does not hold up a product that will make a difference to so many people. SusieR xx

Hello Ananth, well done to you that will be so helpful to so many people.I truly hope the old red tape business does not take to long and this can be marketed at a suitable price for all who will benefit. Did you have an engineering type of background Ananth ? I remember seeing so many young men at clinic with Paul who would benefit from this ,one young man was only in his late teens ,this would be a great break through for so many . Best wishes to you , Bell .

Dear Bell, Thank you for your kind words. I used to keep wondering why I have been kept alive especially when my eating and drinking orally has been something of the past. I have been on a peg feed for the last eight years and have a tracheostomy - which meant I could not talk. I refused to accept not having a voice and kept looking at various ways of getting back my voice and it was by chance I came upon it and I have been working on it for the past two/three years in order to make it compatiable for both - the people with larynx but with no speech and those without their larynx. After a lot of trials and errors and the use of plenty of silicon - I managed to hit the right combination. I tried it out on a patient - a young man in his 20's who did not have his larynx (at that age!!) at my doctors office. In fact when I was talking the young man and his mother had no clue that I had no voice. Its only when the doctor told them they asked me for help and luckily I was carrying some samples of the protos and fitted on into him and he was talking. I am sure it will benefit a lot of people not only in terms of having more or less a normal, husky(sexy!!) voice but will also not hurt their pockets all that much. No, Bell - I have no engineering background and have been a businessman, a model and a sales professional. The red tapism is a known fact in India and we are not really known for our honesty as I think we have been rated as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. I know we will have to fight our way through all the obstacles that come our way - but guess I have enough contacts to complete this one project. Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal.

Hi Ananth ,well you certainly have all the criteria for getting this off the ground and into production ,maybe if u have any contacts in this country you could try and patent this here also . I am aware of The red tapism in India and I know you will have your work cut out for you, but have been reading your posts frequently and find you to be a very intelligent man with a strong drive and focus where you approach life with an amazing fortification and zest where the word Fail does not appear in your vocabulary, or lifestlye .If you could only bottle this drive for life and also the honesty with which you write you would also have another excellent comodity to market . Please keep us posted with your new speech device.I for one believe it would be a miracle for a lot of young and elderly people who have gone through this terrible diesease but left with out a voice . Will be looking for the day you post, it is "ON The Market" and available to all . Best wishes Ananth ,keep well and strong, you are a man with a very imporatnt mission to complete here !! Bell.
