Its now just over 9 months since my radiotherapy has finished. In terms of my recovery then everything is going well especially the eating. The problem is my teeth.Despite having regular check ups, lateley my teeth have been breaking and and an old filling fell out at the weekend.

I brush my teeth(electric) with biotene 4 times
a day and also use the biotene mouthwash. Also I use a prescribed chewing gum

Anyone any ideas?

Hi Robert
you may need to use a high flouride toothpaste at least once a day maybe twice such as duraphat
2800 available on perscription only also a flouride mouth rinse 2 to 3 times a day after brushing

i also have gum shield that i were at night for 5 mins and have gelgam in or you can brush the gelcam on the teeth im sure Dr Vinod can point to past posts or the search on this subject

Hope this helps

Hi Robert

I've been using Oral-B "STOP" since my treatment - it's a flouride gel. I'm not sure whether you need a prescription, but I have mamanged to get it on the internet - but now, from the Oral-B site, they only supply to dentists. I know Colegate does a similar product. They all contain Stannous flouride. Check it out on the internet - hope this helps
