Hellooooo everyone Where are you all? No new messages since 27 August! Paul - we're waiting anxiously for the result of your biopsy. Hope and pray for you that all is well there. Doctor Vinod, Pikeman, Blitzbob, Shelley - come on what's new with you? Nothing new from me right now. Just popped in to say hello really. Steph

Hi Shelley Well I think why you've not heard from many of us is probably because we all stand in awe of the inspirational things you find. Personally the other factor is that I lead such a boring bloody life. Not that I'm really complaining - it's better than the alternative. I mean, I have to spend the thick end of 8 hours a day feeding. Unfortunatey I can't do my PEG feed thru' the night as I'm too restless a sleeper. Then I have my speech therapy - this comprises a couple of hours at the "pub" getting thru 2 pints of weakest and cheapest beer. After that the day's my own. How about your day?

Hello Everbody I'm here! Just busy with work. Am watching... just call out my name and I will be there, etc Preparing for Monday am Best wishes Vinod :coffee: :coffee: Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice. Hi all, im still here, lurking in the background "Live like there is no tomorrow, Dance like no one is watching, Love like u've never been hurt" "U don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing"

Hi again Thanks all for replying. Pikeman - I presume your message was for me, not Shelley. I didn't realise you had to spend so long on the PEG which explains the boredom. I, too, get very bored because I'm stuck indoors all day (apart from doctors and hospital appointments etc.) I can't face the world at present because I look so gormless with my open, misshapen mouth, granulated gums where teeth used to be, and scar tissue lumps on my neck. A well-meaning relative said to me this week "you were such a beautiful girl". Rather tactless I thought. Doc - hope your presentation on RDOC went well and you sorted out the projector OK. Blitzbob & Shelley: Thanks for your input. Glad to see you're still popping in from time to time. As you've probably gathered, I love to get on my computer (evenings only though) unless there's a good night on tele. I have to admit I'm putting on a bit of an act of being cheerful and happy but, believe me, when I'm alone with my thoughts it's a different story. Right now I am very worried about my hip (bone graft donor site) which is getting bigger and heavier each day. Having had the MRSA infection twice I'm terrified it might be deep down in the hip. That's it for today. Steph x

Hi Steph Presentation went okay. It was for a judging. The Restorative Dentistry Oncology Clinic Initiative is one of three teams shortlisted in the Oncology category for the prestigious HOSPITAL DOCTOR AWARDS 2003. The Initiative is about the work of the Restorative Dentistry Oncology Clinics and Website. It is a great honour for us and we prepared excitedly , and with some anxiety As one of the finalists, I will be taking the 5 other members of my team to attend the awards ceremony and dinner at Hotel-Intercontinental, Hyde Park Corner, London, on Thursday 13th November 2003. The winner of the Oncology Category will be announced at the awards ceremony. Though there are only two other entries to beat, competition will be stiff. We are keeping our fingers crossed. If these pictures of last year's awards ceremony are anything to go by, we should have an enjoyable evening About your hip, an infection would tend to cause a fever, so it is probably just part of the healing process you are experiencing. Do ask your doctor about your hip if you are worried. Keep well. Best wishes Vinod :coffee: Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice. Hello Vinod, Thanks for telling me/us more about the presentation and the RDOC initiative. Congratulations on getting into the final and good luck for 13 November. Will keep my fingers crossed hoping you win. I saw my GP about my enlarged, heavy hip as I was terrified of getting MRSA again. Not heard from Paul lately to hear about his last biopsy. Do hope he's OK. Best wishes Steph

Hi Steph. Well it looks as thoug I have to apologise to both Shelley and yourself. The message was for you, though part of it could, of course, apply to Shelley. Anyway, that'll teach me not to rely on memory alone! You know, the more I read of people such as yourself coping with, and eventually overcoming, what must be horrendous problems the more I realise just how lucky I am. I know I've said all this many times before, but it's simply a statement of fact. What do I have to worry about. So it take me quite some time to feed, so I'm still producing embarrassing amounts of mucus. Nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what you and, it must be said, many others cope with on a daily basis. Really, the only worry I have is the one which I think most cancer patients have, that is a recurrence. I, too, am somewhat concerned at Paul's continuing silence. The last time I heard from him he sounded quite upbeat - well upbeat for Paul - but worried about the biopsy. I do wish we could hear something. Even it was bad news. And Vinod, I'm deeply impressed at your reaching the finals of the "Hospital Doctors Award 2003 - Oncology Category". Look forward to hearing how you celebrated your win, as I'm sure you will. Looking forward to reading more news and gossip.

Hi Everyone, With regard to Paul - He hasnt replied to my pvt msg which i sent ages ago, does anyone perhaps have an e-mail addy for him - it's really not like him to be so quiet for so long On another note how is everyone doing?? I'm still cool, go back on the 6th October to the specialist for a check up - just can't wait until i eventually get my implants done, but that could still take years And Doc, congratulations -   "Live like there is no tomorrow, Dance like no one is watching, Love like u've never been hurt" "U don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing"

Morning Shelley - re. Paul. I'm a bit like you. Last PM I had from him was August 16, last PM I sent to him was August 28. Since then silence. In fact that last message of mine shows as being unread. Unfortunately I've no e-mail address for him. Wonder if Blitzbob can do any better?
|
Hi all Yes, the last posting from Paul was on August 22. I am going to send Paul an email  updating him on his webpage stats: In July, the RDOC website received it's highest number of visitors yet. We received 9781 unique visitors and Paul's webpage alone received 910 visits! :wow: In August, we had slightly less visitors due to the holiday season but Paul's webpage was still read by an incredible 878 people! I'll let him know that he is the 3rd Top Poster on the message board with 75 posts! If he's not careful, Pikeman will take over as he's already at a close 69 posts! :yikes: I'll be sure to send him all your regards and well wishes too. Take care, Krishan

|
Well Paul, good to se you come back to life. It must be Sucow's interest that sparked you up. I can't really comment about your "missing" postings as I've been having no end of trouble with my internet connections. But why is it that it just seems to be we old yatterers (I nearly used a different word there)? I keep trying to hold back in case newcomers in particular might feel excluded. Surely there must be people out there who have experiences, complaints, comment or even (hopefully) jokes to share. Please, those people out there who haven't posted, let's hear from you.
