This may be a silly question. Is it possible for a mouth sore that feels like cancer(since I had jaw cancer on the other side) live with Radiation or can it be just a sore from the radiation? I am on my 25 Rad treatment, out of 35, and noticed this yesterday. I will talk to doc on Monday, but, right now I am really concerned.
Thanks to all!! SCC of left jaw 01/06 Surgery on 2/28/06 and Radiation started 05/12/06 Cancer free so far Yeaaaaaa!!! |

I had 33 sessions of RT around my neck and mouth/tongue area. Anything which occurs in and around the mouth during the treatment and in the months (years!) after the treatment causes loads of worry. Hopefully, (just like all the times it's happened to me), it's a false alarm and it's just something that has occurred due to the increased sensitivity in your mouth area.
Cheers - Tony |

When I was having my Rad treatment, a lump on my neck actually became more noticable and felt larger than pre-treatment size. However, this went down in time and dissapeared.
