Hey you guys!
Hows everyone doing? So next week i've got another visit to the cancer centre in Brighton. It's 6 months since my last visit, although i saw my ENT dr in Hastings about 2 months ago. I'm a little concerned about a new lump in my neck. It's on the right - whereas my origninal cancerous lymph gland was on the right. And it's just behind my artery - it's noticable cuz you can see my artery pulsating. I can tell you one thing - i really dont have time for a second round of cancer cuz my life is just perfect and so busy! I'm thinking it cant be back cuz the original lymph gland showed no traces of cancer after my third lot of chemo - and then i had 3 more cycles & 6 1/2 weeks of R/T so how could that have been missed? But you all know better than most how it feels when we have these scares. So i'll point it out next wednesday & see what's next. My love to you all, Michelle -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |

Hi Chelle, I doubt it's anything to worry about but as you say, we know what the scares are like. Glad life is good for you, stay positive. Hagg.

Hi Chelle, like Hagg I think it's prob nothing to worry about. I get swellings both sides, sometimes when I wake in the mornings and other times just for no reason. I have had many scares about it but all scans were clear. I was told that because our glads have been removed or killed by radio anything that the glands would collect just swells up in your neck. Hope this help, although I know we all fear the worst.
Good luck Maurice |

Thanks for your reassurances guys!
I'm probably worrying about nothing but we all know we have to be vigilant. Thanks Maurice, You're probably right about things not working the way they should after the R/T. Hi Chelle
Agree with Maurice, Hagg and Dave, I bet if you did a poll on lumps and bumps after treatment you would find quite a few of us mentioning some sort of changes. I had a lump come up on my tongue a while back and if anyone had said don’t worry I would have thumped them. I was down at the ENT depart pretty prompt the lump was something to do with trauma and nothing nasty. The doc said that he expected all kinds of lumps and bumps to occur, but I was right to come in. You are dong the right thing seeing the doc “try not to worry” now you can thump me, seriously all the best for next week. Regards Tony |

Hello Chelle,
been having a problem getting back on to site through my own stupidity as i had inadvertly blocked it trying to stop build up of spam while we were away .So had posted an update for Paul before finding your personl message. Will be thinking of you next week and understand your worry but i am sure you will be fine Chelle .Paul has little things like that also which are totally fine .Even his neck has little swellings in places which worry us and then we are told it is damage from RT which unfortunately results in i think what u call fibrous tissue. Paul was also told this would happen ,so try and keep calm girlie !!! think the clinic visit always causes that little pang in the old tum . Will keep in touch Chelle . Bell and Paul x |

So i had the check up today.
They had a good ol' poke 'n' prod. He found the lump but doesn't think its much to be concerned about. I'll be having an ultra sound in the next couple of week to be sure though. He said they'd biopsy it if the ultra sound showed anyhting suspicious. So i'm a little reassured! Take care guys, Michelle -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |

Hi Chelle, that's excellent news. I'm sure it'll be nothing to worry about and wont come to a biopsy. Hagg.

Thanks folks!
Bell... Being engaged hasn't changed a thing! Just the same as the last 7 years really! & i do feel i can put it at the back of mind for now. Though last time i was told not to worry about an enlarged lymph node it took them another year to diagnose cancer! *lol* Oh the faith we have with some of our doctors -~*Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds*~- ...Albert Einstein |
