Its been six weeks since I finished my radiotherapy and I am now off the morphine. But for about a week now I have only been averaging 4 hours sleep per evening and its starting to have an effect on my state of mind

Anyone know if this is related to my treatment and any possible solutions?

It's the whole dam thing Robert. This whole treatment for cancer takes you on a journey and you don't know when it will let you off!

Go to the GP for zopiclone 7.5 mg - it's a sleeping pill which works well for one or two months until your body gets used to it. I used it for two months - it worked well.
After stopping using zopiclone I used to stay up all night (reading/computer/Sky tv) and doze on and off all day until the kids came home from school.
Your system will change when it's good and ready. Don't expect it to happen overnight. It took me many months.

Good luck pal - cheers tony K

Tony's right......the whole experience is a messy business. A combination of side effects, fear, and general discomfort have no doubt all contributed to your lack of sleep. You are most definately not alone!
As always....it's how long it takes you to adjust and put it all behing you.

Hi all,
Yup - even I have been through this phase and would spend nights and days without sleep with just my POC and TV for company. Its taken time but now I can sleep pretty well and get my full quota of sleep.
