Tongue biopsy redux

This a.m. doc found white spot on my tongue adjacent to area already biopsied negative on 5/1/2005. Spot is slightly painful to touch and measures at 3mm by 6mm. Have to go back 10/14/2005 for re-examination and possible biopsy.

Last tongue biopsy hurt like the dickens. Not looking forward to this at all.

Would also prefer not to have a malignant tumor on the side of my tongue. I'm funny that way.

Hi Ron
I hope everything turns out all right for you. Jerry has to have another biopsy on 9/29. They are doing another pectoral flap and they want to do a biopsy as the pain in his ear is unabearable. I just wish that they could have gotten him in sooner.
My heart hurts watching him in so much pain, pain patches and some other drugs are not helping.
I hope you are not in pain.
Terry

Hello Ron

It must be worrying. Most of these biopsies keep turning out negative but it is better to be sure. Good luck.

Best wishes

Thanks all. Today I feel better for no reason at all. We are getting freaky thunderstorms here in L.A. and it has taken my mind off of it.

Hi Ron, I remember my biopsy 15 years ago. Boy, did it hurt. I think I nearly passed out when
he did it. I do hope it goes well for you?

And to think kids get their tongues pierced for the hell of it.

Maybe our tongues are more sensitive from radiation. My tongue feels like its burning up if I try to eat breakfast sausage or orange-flavored chicken, and that obviously does not bother normal people.

SmilerHi Ron, I am with you on the tongue piercing, I think if they had any idea of the pain we have all gone through they would never have it done.
Keep us posted on how you are doing. Garance

We have all got the same problem Ron. Sometimes even mildly savoury foods or toppings can irritate my tongue. I guess it may get a little less severe as the years pass but we'll always feel a bit different. It goes hand in hand with the dry mouth which does'nt help.
As for this piercing craze. Some years back I got pretty friendly with a real nice girl who had a nice personality and was a bit of an exhibitionist, but I was totally put off of any idea of a relationship with her based on the amount of metal in her mouth..... studs all over her tongue and a couple of rings in her bottom lip. It would have been hazardous attempting to kiss someone like that. Does anyone find that attractive?

Its nice to hear from people experiencing the same eating problems. I'm always having to cross-examine waiters about the consistency and moisture content of foods, and asking for extra butter and extra gravy. Its hard to describe the problems with swallowing, tasting, and being overwhelmed by any spice or citrus.

Appropos of nothing, I am extremely bored.

I mean like really, really bored. Like I should be taking some medication for it.

SmilerHi Ron, re the food; I am doing well with fish cakes, and great with fresh raspberries with loads of double cream. Not up to curries as yet, but give it another year, and hell who knows. BiG Bear Healing Hugs.

What's a fish cake? I'm picturing chopped whitefish, breaded and fried, and frozen. Pretty much the same as fish sticks. Haven't tried those but I'm picturing them as kind of dry and chewy.
