Phew! A relief to see Trevor wasn't booted off on his first post. I must say I've been holding my breath since I saw what he'd posted!
I think maybe he's up for the challenge of political correctness right now. What is and what isn't important?
The man is still caged in at the RAH and he isn't a happy boy right now. He has his last (hopefully) antibiotic around midnight and then blood and urine off for culture (we all know Trevor has masses of culture!). The drs will speak to the infectious disease mob in the morning and see if they are prepared to let him out before they have the results from the labs (which could take a few days).
So he may be coming home tomorrow (after seeing the r/t team) or the next day or they may send him back to our local hospital til all is clear.
We have been planning a short holiday before Trevor starts his treatment and thought of going to Perth to visit friends and one of Trevor's sons over there (and maybe Mike, Fran?) however the dr said tonight that flying wouldn't be recommended. Back to the drawing board and a reassessment of plans ..........
Thanks (still) for being there you guys and gals.
Love
Deborah

Hi Trev and Deb

Not been posting so much lately but have just caught up again. Trevor has certainly been through it! But the same old Trevor is still shining through I am glad to see.

All best wishes to you both and hope you manage to get a trip sorted out before the next round of battle!

Love

Gwyn

Wooooo hoooooo.
I have a strange man in my bed! Such excitement.
Somehow we managed to get out of the hospital by about 5pm and Trevor was blue with the cold by the time I drove by to collect him! Got him home and he lasted a good hour before he could take no more (even with the pleasure of seeing and holding our beautiful baby!).
Ahhhh bliss.............

Hello,

Glad to learn that Trev is back home. Haven't been able to post because I have just had an operation myself.

Feeling a lot better now.

Best wishes to both of you.

Bye, for now.

Hi! Guy's & Gal's
Boy this being home is tiresome all I seem to do is sleep, and it is sooo BLO*#% Footinmouth freezing that I have to be rugged up all day whilst Deb is down to a Bi-Kini(thats a site to see). I have been getting out to the shops and such but find that I am doing the Geriatric thing and looking for a comfty seat to relax in(embarrassing).
Still got some pain in the wound area and have had the Bush Nurse come and change my Stoma Bag but there is hardly anything draining into it, so thinking they may remove it at my next Specialist appointment Winkthe clip on the stoma sticks into my side as I sleep which is abit annoying BUT I am alive and still kicking so stop complaining Trev.
My weight is still going down and that is not a good sign what with RT/Chemo coming in 3 weeks time.
Anyway thanks for your replies and I will endeavour to keep up to date in the future
Love to ALL
TREV Smiler

Hi Trev

Good to hear that your up and about and out shopping.

Trev you may have come across this info before so please ignore it if you have.

If you are losing weight but your eating is back to normal or near normal it could be that your pancreas is not producing enough certain enzymes which effect the way carbs, proteins, fat are digested. Common signs of this are and wait for it smelly light coloured floating motions, low insulin levels.

If that is the case the dr's can provide enzyme replacement suppliants.

If it is not any of the above to help gain weight and you don't feel like eating due to the recent operation, you could perhaps try a body bulk powders that weightlifter/body builders use, usually available from local sport shop a good vegetable juicer is a god send you can juice up high ORAC value (oxygen radical absorbent capacity) veggies and fruits.

Have you running marathons next.

Take care regards to Deb's.
