Hi Deb

Tell Trevor that I would have had to be a GIANT KANGAROO to do the Hop-Skip an Jump to get to see him in Willaston!
quote:

Did you realise it is only a Hop-Skip and a Jump to Willaston South Australia, when you are in Perth. Deb and I both wish you all a Happy Aniversary.
Trev & Deb

Best wishes to you both

Ha ha ha. Good one, Dr Joshi.
Trevor will love that mean old, mangy fella when he sees him! He looks like the kangaroo equivalent of the junk yard dog.
Even though you were 3000 kms (or more) away from us when you were in Perth, we just wanted you to know you were welcome to drop in!
Thank you everyone for your kind words of support, I can't get over how comforting it is to find someone in my computer.
Trevor had the biopsy yesterday and we may get the results today although it's more likely to be Monday ~ will be a long weekend that's for sure.
Trevor really is feeling down, as you would expect but it is so out of character for him. He's the happy go lucky, jolly, Mr Havachat usually and I have never seen him this way. I wish I could share his load somehow but I can't and we just have to ride the wave til we hit the next hurdle. You all know how it goes with this stuff, up and down like a yo-yo.
There was nothing draining from his stomach last night and if that continued, they were going to remove the garden hose they've stuck up his nose today. They will put a line into his upper arm for meds, bloods, nourishment etc. Basically he hasn't eaten for 12 days now so it will be good if they can get some nutrition in soon.
I'm raving, sorry about that. Thanks for being there you guys. You cannot know how comforting your presence is.
Catch you soon.
Love
Deborah

Hi All
No results today so we mark time til Monday. They did an xray this morning and put some contrast through the ng tube to see if it was able to pass the obstruction but alas no. So PICC line was put in and nutrition started this evening. He can drink small amounts of hi cal fluid because they are syphoning the stomach four hourly so anything not absorbed won't build up and bloat the tum. This is a real treat because Trevor does love his iced coffee.
Catch you all later, I'm exhausted and am going to hit the hay.
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for your messages. I will get to the PMs as soon as I can.
Love
Deborah

Hi All
Just a quick update.
Trevor is back for another endoscopy as I write this. The consultant is of the opinion that the mass they encountered on Thurs isn't the main problem, and he thinks there is something beyond it so they are going to try to get there today. They said yesterday that if they are going to operate it will be this week. Trevor is rather weak so I guess they need to get on top of things pretty quick.
Thanks again for you concern and support.
Love
Deborah

I guess you're all going prety crazy without knowing what's really going on. Have the doctors given you any theories? Do they know if this is your unknown primary?
I hope your family are being good to you both.
You're still in my thoughts.
Michelle

Hi All
I'm sitting on Trevor's bed as I write for him. Our son got him connected to the internet so he's just had a read through all of your messages and is really touched by your thoughts ~ we both are.
The surgeons have just been around. No clear results from the second biopsy so they are planning theatre for Friday afternoon. They will definitely be doing a gastric bypass and they will definitely be removing the gall bladder and connecting the bile duct to the bowel but they won't know about any other procedures until they get amongst it all.
Surgery may be about 3-4 hours or 6-7, depending on how things are. The CT scans suggest involvement of lymph nodes behind the pancreas so at this point that's all they have to go on.
They may also do a procedure to put a feeding tube into the bowel but again, it depends ......
It all sounds pretty scary stuff but the dr's are being very frank which is really appreciated. And, as you all know, knowing something (no matter how awful) is better than putting bits and pieces together in your mind and coming up with all sorts of things.
Trevor is swinging from being up, and then hitting the bottom with a thud but generally he's holding up pretty well. Even if he doesn't put the words together to reply, at least he will now be able to read up on you all.
Catch you all later.
Love
Deborah and Tricky Trev
PS Dr Joshi our beautiful grandson has been replaced a poxy looking kangaroo as Trevor's screensaver. Please give me your best medical opinion ~ 'Will this pass??????'

Sure was glad to hear that Trev is holding his own. My last thought of the day was to check & see if any news was to be found from the doc's poking around. so I really appreciated this update.

hope you have a quick recovery from this little set back.

Well, I've had one of the procedures that you're about to have, the gall bladder removal. Had laparoscopic surgery (through the belly button) about 10-12 years ago and was out and about the following day. Piece of cake! My daughter teased me that I was finally Playmate of the month with a staple in my navel. Playboy needs you! Have Deborah take pix.

Best of luck, buddy. You've got your very own fan club rooting for you.
