SmilerHaven't been around much due to a frozen shoulder, as if the neck pain was not enough, someone has suggested this may be due to the rad treatment ? Has anyone any ideas ?

Hello Bell here,Pauls wife i have been using this wonderful forum on behalf of my husband Paul who had radiotherapy plus chemo running side by side for Nasopharyngeal cancer .Strangely enough just recently Paul took a frozen shoulder also ,He is still inrecovery and finally picking up but not doing anything to cause such a problem as he is still not capable of any physical work or even his beloved golf yet .He saw a specialist at hospital and had a cortisone injection and thankfully the problem cleared up within 2 weeks and he is now totally free of the pain.
Doctor suggested his stiff neck and posture due to treatment and side effects with lymphodeama etc could maybe have been a cause but nothing definite .Hope this may be of help to you .Paul was lucky with injection as specialist said sometimes 2 may be needed .It only took 15 minutes and was not to painful. They also inject an anaesthetic in with cortisone so this helps straight away .
Hope you get rid of it soon Garrence as this is an added problem that is not to be put up with .
Best wishes Bell .

Ahh there you are - Yes I think it may be due to rads. Had a terrible time with it in years 2 an 3 post rads. It's been much better this year.

What medication have you been offered for it.

Good Morning,
On the question of shoulder pain Pauline may well be right about radiation treatment being a common cause, but I think it is not the only cause.I was spared the trauma of radiation but still experienced considerable shoulder pain. I posted an article about this 14 09 06 ( click on my name in the top left corner and select "view recent postings") I still get some problems and recently tried "IBUGEL" which brought some measure of relief. Clearly this is not a permanent solution but it dulls the pain which in itself will help the natural mechanisms to get to work.
Keep Smiling Razzer
John

SmilerHello, sorry have not been in touch, been in the country. Still got the shoulder problem, my Doc did not want to give me a cortisone injection, so I have been having acupunture, pain has eased up, but still unable to lift arm up, and very difficult changing gear in the car.
SmilerGood news is I have had my check up this morning and have been let off until mid January as all seems well, down the throat. However have to take great care with what I eat, as you all know, so won't bore you with those details.
Big Bear Healing Hugs to all you in the know.
