As I sat there, thinking I was alone, My friend came back to visit, I should have known. Some friends we ask for, some we don't, Some we would do anything for, some we won't. I have this friend it found me and stayed, Though I didn't like it or the games it played. Oh,the friends name, I almost forgot, Cancer is it's name, oh I get that reaction a lot. Ah yes it has found a true friend in me, It hasn't just found me one time, it has found me three. Sorrow, pain, sickness, pain, tears, pain, 'Ole Cancer knows not how to play any other game. This time I pray that it is gone and it will never find me again, For this is one friend that I can do without, my Cancer friend. Vicki Lynn | ||

Nice poem, Vicki. Thanks. Shelley, our resident South African, used to post poetry she liked- lovely inspirational ones; you might like them too. She should be getting some dental implants in her jaw sometime soon.
