Dr Joshi and myself were at the annual 3 day dental exhibition this week in London http://www.dentalshowcase.com - We were raising awareness about mouth cancers among dental health professionals and distributed over 2,500 leaflets from the World Cancer Research Fund. We released 5,000 balloons carrying the mouth cancer awareness message sponsored by Philips Oral Healthcare who also donated 3,000 to the Foundation. Read the Press & Media section on the web site http://www.rdoc.org.uk/pressarchive.html
We're going to be working hard to form a recognised and focused mouth cancer charity to raise awareness and provide support. We will also be updating the site for mouth cancer awareness week. The message board will be undergoing some changes to improve it. We also have plans for an online chat room for our members... so watch this space.
Thank you for all your support, more and more health professionals are now aware of this online support group and the helpful patient stories!
Thank you for the great work, when I got throat cancer I could not understand as I have never smoked am I am not a drinker; people out therre in the world all think only smokers will get throat cancer. What the public do not understand is the pain we all suffer, I know each case is different, but public awareness should be addressed; have you thoought of getting onto the Richard and Judy show, as medical men ?

I've wondered if there has have been any studies into the pyscholigical effects, such as the feelings of isolation due to problems, either real or imagined, due to problems with speech and/or appearance.
