Hi, I'm Sara, 36yrs and I'm a new member hoping to chat to someone who may be able to give me some advice. I have an ulcer like lump on the soft palate of my mouth. It is whitish in colour with a hard edge and hole in the middle. It is approx 8mm in size and has been there for a few months. I have been using Oracort but this hasn't helped. The lump can often be sore and itchy. As an ex smoker I decided to see my doctor who has referred me to an ENT specialist. I am on the public waiting list so I should get to see him within the next 6-9mths. Does anyone have any advice on what may help in the meantime? Thanks for your time, Sara ![]()

Hi Sara I'm so sorry that you can't get in for such a long time. Would it be possible for you to get in sooner if you went private, or perhaps went to an emergency room (a.k.a The American Plan)? Failing that, does the ENT you're scheduled to see move people up if slots become available? Raise a fuss if you have to. You might want to try a topical anesthetic like Chloroseptic to see if it might ease the pain a little. As for the itching, I can't think of anything that might help. Please keep us in the loop. I'm hopeful that someone here might be able to give you better advice than I have. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!

Hi Sara, I would do anything I could to be seen quickly. Make a fuss go private. Its common knowledge that the sooner the cancer is caught the better. Not saying your is Cancer but dont take this risk. Let us know how you go on. Paul
