Hi all,
My mom went for her regular six weekly check-up last Friday, when the doctor examined her mouth they found an ulcer towards the back of her mouth. Another doctor came in and he advised he thought it was just an ulcer healing up but said that they could do a biopsy immeidately or wait for a couple of weeks for mom to go back and have it checked. The ulcer is still there but its tiny, however it does look like a tiny white line, which is exactly what mom had the first time. Its still there, im extremely worried, have not been sleeping and she had made such a good recovery I can bare the dreaded thought that "its" back. Just wondered if anyone had any advice. Also im quite worried that moms oncologist advised that you can only have RT once so what are the further treatment options for recurrance? Oli |

Hi Oli
I hope you're not waiting those couple of weeks to have it checked out--you'd go mad with worry. That's not good for either of you. I am so sorry for this possible repeat performance. Let us know what happens. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos! |

Hi Oli,
I'm sorry to worry you further but this is exactly what happened to my husband. He had done so well and then started having mouth ulcers that just did not go away. This continued for 1 1/2 months when they finally did a biopsy which tested positive. He now faces major surgery. Please have the biopsy now rather than later as this is an agressive cancer God bless! Susan |

Thanks Julia & Susan,
Have just called the hospital and asked them to book mom in for a biopsy, it will take a week or so for her appointment so im hoping that next week when she goes to the check-up its gone and she doesnt have to have the biopsy done. I just thought that if it does have to be done it saves a week of messing around. This disease is just so unfair! I have played it all down to mom, to try not to worry her, she said that she does not have a bad feeling about it so im just trying to keep positive. Oliver |

Being positive is great and yes, this disease is extremely unfair.
