Good Morning Zack,
your parents are right these things will usually clear up after a few days. Decision time is three weeks if the problem has not cleared in that time you do need to see a doctor or dentist.Oral cancer in your age group is unusual (but not unknown)it is,however, something you can't afford to take chances with so if it has not cleared in three weeks seek professional advice.
In the meantime don't poke the lump you will probably make it worse.
Keep smiling
John

Hi Zack, there must be a way you can see a dentist if the problem doesn't go away. Someone here will probably know how to go about it but dont take chances if it doesn't sort itself out. All the best, Hagg.
