hi all, I had a chest xray for something toally unrelated but they found a small nodule at the base of my right lung. Ths is they same side as my previous head and neck cancer. It may not be malignant but I would think the chances are it is. I can accept if it is, I am now booked in for a PET scan tomorrow at 10:30am. Has anyone any had a nodule found in the lung and if so what was the treatment? I am off to China for a month on Sat next and wondering if they will allow it to wait for treatment untill I get back.
Any advice would be welcome

thanks Maurice

Hi Maurice,
Don't write yourself off just yet! (i know, rich coming from me!)
I had a couple of nodes on my lungs and liver, shown up on my initial CT scan. & they turned out to just be scar tissue from some previous affliction (who knows what). Apparently i had bronchitis once upon a time. So it may not be anything to worry about just yet!
I hope you get to enjoy your China trip!!
All the best,
Michelle

Hi All
Got results of PET scan today. They confirmed it is cancer. It is 7mm size and it can wait until I return from China. The scan covered the whole of my body and they say the remainder is clear. When I return I have to discuss with them what action to take. Hopefully with it only being 7mm they will say they can remove it.
They said at this size it is only just big enough to be able to be seen by scan, which I take as a good sign. If I had not gone for original scan they would not have found it until it had got to a stage where it was efecting my breathing and it may well have been to late then.

Take care all
Maurice

Hi All

Thanks for all you best wishes. I am not to worried always new there was a high chance it would be back since the first was stage four. Stage four to stage one is a great improvement I think. I have been and still will be enjoying my life which, I would not have had but for all the wonderful doctors nurses and not forgetting Sarah Cost my Mac Nurse. My life has been more than fulfilling after cancer so will go have a great hol then come home and settle into what ever treatment they think appropriate.

Regards to all Wink

Maurice
