Hi I am really worried, sure this is pretty much how everyone starts their messages... About 2 weeks ago I found a small light red lump on the bottom right hand side of my mouth, on the gum itself... I would say it was no more than 3/4's of an inch in size... Some one described a similar thing on another board as it looking liek a gum on the gum... not sure thats the best description but close... It is basically a lump/growth which looks to be attached onto the gum... it bleeds if I touch it, which means I cant clean my teeth or eat too easy on that side I am off to see my doctor tomorrow... fearing the worse... any one got any ideas ??? Thanks Steve

I know its easy to jump to conclusions and fear the worst but try not to worry - you are doing the right thing and seeing your doctor who will probably put your mind at rest - the chances are it isnt cancer. When I asked my dentist about oral cancer he used a great analogy - if you look out of the window and see a bird - the chances are it will be a blackbird not a budgerigar (spelling?). As he said most lumps, bumps, lesions are ordinary mundane things not cancer. Good luck at the docs
