" You've got your toubles, then I've got them too!, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you! "

We've all have friends, many are partners, husbands or wives. Some are complete strangers we chat to on the internet.

Let me tell you about my special friend.

Angela is 30, married and has three boys. She's not a Macmillan nurse, counsellor or social worker. She has gained her qualifications from what is commonly called the University of life! What it teaches you is something that will never appear in a text book and no teacher/lecturer will ever have the balls Eeker to tell you. There's certainly no qualifactions on graduation. You learn from your mistakes and past experiences.
How many of us have sat looking at a bottle of pills and seriously thought of taking the whole bottle! Be honest! The Samaritains can only talk to you about what other people tell them to say, ask them if they've felt the same way,you can hear them thinking 'No Way!'. I've 'phoned Angela sometimes 2.30 am and spoke to her,and she's convinced me not to do it! Someones made an offensive remark about my phsyical appearance and it's really got to me, I've been talked through how these people aren't worth the skin on their backs! Angela has visited me in hospital,'phoned every day while I was in hospital.Let me stay at her house just to get away.I fainted once at her house and came too at hospital;Angela had organised everything. She makes sure I've taken my Prozac, to keep me sane.

As the song says " You've got a friend in me!"

Some of you may have asked yourselves how I know this person, or how I met her?

Angela is my ex, and mother of my son!

I was best man at her wedding last year!

A friend in deed!

Alan, what a great way with words you've got.

I found your "you've got a friend etc." particularly poignant.

Look forward to your next posting.
