Hello all

I hope life is treating you all kindly.

I have just returned from my trip to Abu Dhabi. Had a great time. No problems with the high temperatures, used high factor sun block of course. The thyroxine seems to be working, as I no longer look like the chipmunk I did before starting treatment.

Maurice..I have been following your diary, and my thoughts are with you. Please keep up that positive and fighting attitude that you certainly have. You know Maurice, I think our problem is we try to think for our family. We should give them more credit. They want to help in any way they can, and we shouldnt think we are a burden on them.
You are fighting the battle together. I say this because I wasnt going to tell my son and daughter when I was diagnosed. My husband insisted I did, and Im glad I listened. They needed to help just as your family does. The feeling of helplessness they have at not being able to do anything subsides a little when they can do things like drive you for treatment, listen to your moans and groans anything at all. I know you want them to live their life normally just remember you ARE part of their life.

One thing I was really thankful for, was the Radiographers very kindly allowed my husband and son to see me having treatment. Not all, just a few. This was another part of all working together. Maybe you can ask for this.

Just keep thinking positively and maybe a little prayer now and then. A burden most certainly not..

Take care

Rosemary

Hi there,all

Yes, thanks maurice for you're diary.

Today I went out to friends but cannot get rid of this morbid feeling of dread.

My gland in my neck is swollen and Im petrified now, Had a couple of private crying sessions.

This may sound silly as I haven't even been diagnosed yet,but just the thought is dreadful.

My only support here is my Aunt, and you guy's.

I haven't told anyone else ,not until I know whats going on.

Alan , thanks for the advice, I will go to the Doctors tomorrow,

Will they see me on the same day for an emergency appointment. I sure hope so...I cant function in this limbo anymore.

I may have to take the day of work tomorrow.

Will keep you posted.

John.

Hi John, just to let you know I had lots of private crying sessions when I was told. But this week I found a lump at the other side of my neck and panicked :worried: , went to see my consultant only to be told it was my normal gland Big Grin . So you see we all get paronoid at times Roll Eyes . But you may well be worrying over nothing, so keep you chin up go see your doc then you will know one way or the other. Mine and i'm sure everyone elses thoughts are with you.
Cheers Maurice
