Hi all

i can't believe it's been six weeks since my son finished his treatment. We are off to see the team tomorrow. Not sure what happens at first check up??

Will let you know how it goes. He has been healing well. Just a bit of swelling on his gums still. Went back to work last week and seemed to cope ok apart from being a bit tired.

Love to you all

Mum

Good luck to your son for tomorrow mum. Check ups can be a bit daunting at first but I always felt better for seeing the team.

Hi Mum
I hope you get nothing but the best of news for you and your son. The end of treatment seems a million miles away at the start and then, as it is for us now, it seems like forever til Trevor has to go back to the ENT specialist. It will soon be here though and next thing we know, it'll be Christmas!
Can't wait to hear how you get on.
Cheers from the Land Down Under

Thanks so much.

Yes my son did get good news. He will have a scan again in a couple of months but as far as the team are concerned at this moment he is cured. Only prob was he still had sore gums and when they checked today it seems they should have taken a couple of teeth out before treatment. Apparently he has a couple of wisdom teeth through and the top one was biting down on the gum of the bottom one. Can be complications having teeth out that have been in contact with radiotherapy. So they did today remove the top one which had the least contact in the hope that this will settle it down. So fingers crossed it heals OK.

So just taking life a day at a time, today all is well.

x Mum

Hey Mum...
Sooooo pleased for you and your son!
Despite the wisdom teeth issue.
I'm surprised he's back to work already - good for him!
I'm chuffed to bits for you both.

Wishing you well...
Michelle

Thankyou Michelle,

I will be sticking around, and am looking forward to the walk next month. My husband and I will both be there. How is your new business going, don't forget to take time to look after yourself.
