I was wondering if Russell Watson's tumour would be classed as "Head and Neck" the other day when I saw a photo of him in the paper.

He was about to be discharged and the photo showed him with a dressing over his nose and mouth, saying that the surgery had been undertaken through his mouth.

He also has to start radiotherapy and I just looked into his eyes and said out loud, "I wonder if you know what you have in front of you". I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

Maybe somone should introduce him to this fantastic web site !

Yes - he's the lad from Salford who became an opera singer after being discovered on Karaoke somewhere in Spain, I think.

He's just been rushed into hospital with a recurring brain tumour. It was operated on a year ago and found to be benign, but I'm not so sure about this time

Thanks Winnie.
I knew nothing of his original illness and this probably explains why I haven't heard anything of him for some time. I saw a show ~ probably a couple of years ago now considering how time flies, but since then nothing really.
I also thought he was much younger than he obviously is.
What is it with this damn cancer? It's everywhere.
Cheers
Deborah

Winnie,
Brain Tumours don't usually come under the same catagory as Head& Neck. Operating on the brain needs different, specialised surgeons.
I'd expect they went through his nose/mouth as the tumour was under the brain & that was the only way they could access it.
