Angie it's not just during treatment - any codeine/opiate based medicine will bung you up. I take perhaps just 2 doses of Solpadol teatime and bedtime instead of the 4 doses through the day I am allowed and without that prune juice, I'd be in agony.
Roughly I drink a 750 ml bottle of prune juice over 2 days. If I forget I have to use a pint in one day. Vegetables like cabbage, spinach, stewed plums/apples also help. But prune juice is a miracle worker for me for comfort.

Trev sorry you don't like prunes, I like both but I don't think modern pulp prune juice tastes that similar to school prunes. Strange isn't it I hated the synthetic taste of Movicol. We just each have to find what suits us.

But Angie is right when all else fails that glycerine is very effective...

Hi! All,
Well here we are week 4 and feeling it, backaches are worst than ever and all I want to do is sit, had the boys here again on Saturday and between us got the wall of the carport filled in to make it a garage for Deb's car, after doing only a little of the work I was shattered and was of to bed early. Today the R/T nurse stated that the mucous build up in my throat is probably caused by the RT (it's nothing like when I had RT on my throat, and why should it when they are zapping my Pancreas not my throat). Had my PICC Line redressed and they are concerned about the bleeding so I have to have it dressed again and checked on Thursday. As we were leaving on of the nurses followed us out to the car telling us to bring a shopping bag so she can fill it with Panadol, cream, ETC as the other nurse gives 1 at a time (COOL).
I hope none of my friends on line are effected by the Bank problems in the USofA.
Keep the faith,
Love Trev

Hi! All,
Chloe sorry but it came in my head like an inspiration (no stars though) and it wasn't till I had posted that I noticed WHERE the inspiration came from (YOU), I should stop trying to be clever Smiler Yes I am really an outsider on the Forum as my Cancer is now in my Pancreas (But don't tell anybody as I don't want to be banded from the Forum). Unforunately I drew the short straw and got a second type of cancer( I like the attention I get from my lovelly Deb ).
Winnie, I amaze myself sometimes BUT after doing the work I suffer from total exhaustion and Deb gets a bit stroppy with me as I then moan and groan and am useless to her, BUT I have always been an independent person that likes to do things myself (I do try to stop and rest)
Well R/T 17 (12 to go), apart from the wait in the crowded lounge the treatment went well, the actual time the RADS hit me is only 60 seconds but the setting up is about 10 minutes, then it was of to the Specialist who asks you all kinds of questions like " hows the treatment going" OK! he's the specialist so he should know LOL. No things are going alright and apart from the pain that a couple of Panadol sort out, and then back to the reclinner and zonked out (that is after I check my "Fan Base" and any battles on the Forum Roll Eyes Well thats about it I will wait with eager trepidation on what transpires in the next day or so (hell that last bit was a load of cr*p)

"Stay Strong"
Love TREV

Todays R/T 18 went as usual and apart from the usual weakness things are much the same I saw the Specialist Surgeon today who removed the drain from my side with just a tug, and for me a fair bit of pain but that has gone now and the ache I had there prior to the removal has also gone, so now I am free from things hanging off me (apart from my Deb) Roll Eyes. Then to get home and spend a little time with my life giver Marley (my Grandson for those who don't know)what a joy, but I've said this before, and then it was of to bed for 2 hours DAMM I was bushed.
I'LL BE BACK

I think if we were to view the closed circuit TV images we would clearly see that it wasn't ME hanging on to anyone!! (Nice try Trevor).
My weight gain is in direct relation to Trevor's weight loss. If I was to hang on him, he'd snap.
Cheeky bugga!

Debs - it's good to see you are maintaining the weight equilibrium down under.

We don't want the world tipping upside down.

I'm doing my bit for my mum's weight loss too Wink
