Hello Trevor and Debs,

So sorry to hear that Trev is suffering yet more setbacks and am hoping his prune juice has managed to shift things around abit by now. He must be feeling very grim, poor thing.

I loved your story about Ikea. Chaz discovered it when I was away one year and thought he'd arrived in heaven. The prices are extremely competitive in the UK and the fact that you could get cheap meatballs to boot thrilled him to bits. I remember him emailing me a picture of all the goodies he had bought for our new home along with an excel spreadsheet accounting for the small amount of money he had spent. Bless.

Well we have had a pretty good week and I don't know whether Chaz's throat has stopped bothering him or he has just decided to stop telling me about it...will find out once Ale departs!

First important news: Alex still likes Bella, but as he has not made any moves in 3 months she has moved on to other boys, so maybe he wont be so fickle after all! Dad and son seem to have enjoyed each other's company playing computer games, scale electrix and doing things with some of Chaz's friends - they are out seeing Monster versus Alien at the moment.

I was chuffed that I managed to get us all to see David Byrne from Talking Heads on Tuesday. Paid far too much money for last minute tickets, but decided it was a thing that had to be done to add to Alex's stack of memories of things he did with his Dad - they see so little of each other. (It was particularly nice as we took Alex to see David Byrne about 5 years ago when he was only 8.) I had a fab time on Tuesday - because I could only get 2 sets of 2 tickets in 2 different areas of the hall, I sat apart from Chaz and Alex with a friend of mine who I went to uni with 25 years ago.We boogied away as if we were 18 again and throroughly enjoyed all the weirdness of the show and escaped Chaz moaning about the dancers - whom we loved - distracting him from the music!

Then on Weds we took Alex to his first 15 film the Boat that Rocked which we all enjoyed and all went for a meal together. Chaz had a steak dish that he had last ordered there a few weeks before he started treatment, when he thought it might be the last time he would ever be able to enjoy steak. This time, 7 months later it was as good as then!

So all in all we have been very lucky and had quite a fun week....I almost feel guilty posting this as I know Trev feels so unwell, and Debs has been having such a poo time, but I know you both have very generous spirits and I have got so much from you support in my down moments that I wanted to share some of the ups and hope you might get a smile from hearing about our little adventures.

Big hugs to you both, take care and I hope to hear that Trev is feeling a bit better soon.

Love
Cath

Hi Trev and Deb

I think everybody has already said it all. We would love to hear from Trev but realise what a dreadful time he is having and really appreciate your messages, Deb. Do hope things start to ease a little soon.

Thinking of you both

Love

Hi! All,
Well I'll give it a go at a message and hope that it makes sense, my day's have been very crappy with a feeling of total Lethargy and tiredness, I find myself sleeping a lot and even my stroll around my block doesn't give me the same euphoria that it did before and I seem to manage haifway and then I need a rest before heading off on the remainder of the trip.
I am finding nasty little weeds that if I don't remove then they will spread and cause havoc, but I don't have the strength or the ability to remove them. Deb & I went for a drive to a major shopping centre and then Deb pushed me around the centre. So aftre buying some new clothing and a cake cover we got out of there before We ran out of money!
Hello Everyone
Trevor's taken himself off to bed and asked that I finish this off for him. I think he did a pretty good job with his post although he does have things a bit mixed up. He's combined a couple of outings into one. No big deal but that just highlights how he has lost track of time. He is so tired and sleeping so much that he loses the sense of today and tomorrow. He thinks it's ages since we left the house but he relates that to the number of sleeps he's had rather then the actual time.
Each day here seems to be more of the same and that's why I haven't posted. It's quite difficult for Trevor to keep up with things and even if he dictates what he would like to post, it's not the same when it's me who has put the words together. I figure you'll all tune out from boredom if I just keep you up to speed each day with more of the same. It's also difficult sometimes to write what I would like because I don't want to upset Trevor ~ a vicious circle.
We both always check the 'mail' each day and have also noticed how quiet things are. Where's everyone else?????? We'd like some news of you all too, don't you know!
Catch you all later
Love
Trevor and Deborah

Hi Debs and Trev

We are all here well I am just logged on to check on you two.

Sorry to hear that you feels crappy.

What all this regarding Trev out weeding the block no wonder he feeling "tuckered out" I think that correct Aussie for knackered.

Well we have just been out today to look at a new house believe it or not made of styro blocks kind of a foam that filled with concrete (nice house but styro foam I thought they were joking), anyway it is supposed to be eco friendly very warm in the winter and cool in our very "hot summers".

So post away and if Trev feels up to it there plenty of weeds around the styro home bloody great big thistles.

Can you think of a good name for it if we decide to go ahead and buy open to suggestions??

Take care both of you.

Cooooeeeee
its 4am and i thought i would just have a check in while drinking a cuppa.I have read two new posts and wondered if i was really awake ,or doing this in my sleep,i know i said the forums were quiet but as you said debs i think a few doses of medication are required!!

Having seen the end of my beloved macleod daughters i am now completely hooked on sea patrol where i can catch the occasional glimpse of the ever gorgeous steve bisley, and in a uniform too lol, what do you two watch on the box for entertainment?
I am also knitting furiously for the new baby and have very proudly just completed my first double cable knit jumper in powder blue.It took ages but was well worth it,but in view of the size he may be i skipped new born size lol and went straight on to 3-6 months.
Yesterday i was walking through the woods here on the estate with my little jack russell and at last the bluebells are out and the ground has a beautiful covering of bright blue.We are not allowed to pick bluebells in the uk because they are protected which is good in one way but i am sure a few wouldn't be missed and they are so pretty, what sort of plants do you grow Trev i expect the heat and the driness make growing stuff a bit difficult although the gardens on Neighbours always look very colourful.

Well i better drink my tea and see if i can get back to sleep.

take care you two

love and hugs liz

Cookey,

Are your bluebells the same as Texas bluebells? They're in bloom now too in some nasty hot Texas soil. If they're the same, they're hardier devils than they appear to be and are absolutely beautiful.

Texas Bluebells

I was gone for a long weekend and when I returned I went straight for this site rather than check the snail mail and pick up voice mail. Trev & Deb and Paul & Bell, sammy's hyperbaric chamber experiences, sri's scattered questions, Haag's encouragement, cookey and Julia's (and everyone else's) sage advice, my dearest Sharifah's status...the latest troll that pissed me off... (This may have a different meaning according to continent.)

My peeps.

Hi Trev and Debs,

We have been in Wales for a fewdays and the bluebells look lovely there too.

Sorry to hear that Trev is so sleepy, but lovely to read his posts again. I hope he gets his phone sorted out. I lost my lovely simple Nokia a few months back and made sure that I bought the simplest phone I could find when I replaced it, but I don't get on with it at all and for some reason just can't get on with its texting functionality at all. I can't believe that I am becoming such a luddite. I was a computer services network manager in the early 90s before the mouse and Windows and now I cant even set the most basic functions on a mobile!

Apart from incessant throat clearing, Chaz has been in quite good form of late although he has a sore neck today. I kind of think it serves him right for driving for 5 hours without accepting my offer of help and then weilding a replica viking sword and shield around, that has just arrived from ebay, when we got home!

Take care my dears and keep on posting.

Hugs

Cath

Dear Debs and Trev

I check in every single weekday just to see how you are doing.

My mum's path and Trev's path ran side by side for so long, through the early days of surgery and treatment (2 yrs ago on Friday) that I feel somehow linked with you both - so far but so close.

Your daily "coping" with all this just impresses me, no-end.

xx

G'day Cobbler
Yes I can appreciate how it is with the little ones get me run down and I can hardly pick them up. I sit in my chair and someone has to put them in my lap because I can't pick them up. As much as I love them I can't wait to see them out the door! lol
Marley is a wriggly little worm and it takes all my strength to keep him still on my lap whereas Charlotte just lies there sucking her dummy. That will change as she gets older.
According to the latest on the news and current affair, Bonjela has been given a no no as a teething soother for babies (not that we have a need to use it but always did with our kids) because now apparently it causes some brain problem. What is going to be left to soothe them?
As for the weekend, I thought a stroll down the beach would go well, if it stops raining. lol We are now into our second day of rain. Not real heavy, but steady (we've had more rain in the last 24 hours than we have had all year so far). It's lovely. We've been waiting for some wet for months and months (make that years!!) and I'm complaining already!
Tha's about all I can think of, Cocky. I hope you're well. I'm off to enjoy an iced coffee and a chocolate donut. Life really is worth living!
Love
Trev
