Hi you old party animal. My jaw is still touching the floor, having just read that your pain relief consists of soluble panadol!!!!!!

I know they breed 'em tough in Oz but surely you need a bit more than a couple of paracetamol.

Our news is dominated by unbelievable pictures of the fires in Melbourne and the poor souls who are homeless its unbelievable, even more so as we face a second week of winter storms, snow and ice.last weeks snow is still lying and more is falling this morning as i lay huddled under the duvet with the dog lol.My poor son only worked two days last week as his scaffolding truck is snowed in and they cant get it down the lane that leads to the yard, which is not the news a young father needs with a famiy to feed.

Sounds like a good time was had by all Trev and will be a happy memory for you all.I hear the temperature has dropped a touch now so perhaps you will be more comfortable.

Take Care and rest up

love to debs

Hello Everyone
Thanks for your anniversay good wishes! Another year done and dusted! Where has all that time gone?
Well the filthy heat we have been enduring has landed a lot of people in hell and little wonder with the heinous conditions we've had. Add to that the immoral bastards who get some kind of thrill out of starting a fire. As one fire fighter said today, if they were to get their hands on anyone responsible for the horror they have been left to deal with, there wouldn't be much left of him/her. There would be very little resistance to such a stance either because the whole country is reeling from heartache and heorism coming from Victoria and a taste of their own seems a pretty fair call for asonists, or murderers as they are rightly being called in the media.
These fire fighters are mostly volunteers and some have lost family, homes and all belongings while they have been out saving the same for others ~ all for free. These are our national heroes and thankfully they get plenty of recognition for their efforts.
Mimi, we had a big fire here in South Australia last year that was set by a young mother with a two year old. She didn't do it to give benefit to anyone but her own sick craving (or whatever it is).
It is a very sad state of affairs. How can people ever get over this kind of stuff.
Thankfully temperatures have dropped and we have beautiful mild weather. Ahhhhhh bliss. Trevor has even got his trakky daks on! Talk about a turn around.
Hey Liz ~ like you said ...... tough, but not that tough! Soluble panadol are the stop gaps!!!
Thanks for thinking of us everyone, as we think of you all. Try to keep warm.
Love
Deborah

Hi Trev & Debs,
I don't post very often but you guys amaze me. I'm glad you had a good anniversary with all the family - you deserve it. We have an Aussie neighbour (my Neil's best mate)who has lots of folk in Oz - we are thinking of all the poor souls affected by the fires - it's ghastly.I'm very glad it's cooled a little for you Trev hopefully you're feeling a bit more omfortable.
Love to you both - thinking of you lots.
Margaret

! All,
Well where do I begin ThankYou all of you for your words and wishes yes I am "wonderfull, incredible & anyother cool thing I can say about MOI) Lol Lol Soapbox Yes we did have a great time and at the end of it I new that I had done more than I should have But hell I have a new aim in life and I"ll have to be good to fit it all in .
Today Deb & I went on a cruise up the Port River (which for the unknowing is the river that the ship's birth when tourist visit Adelaide(a bit like a miniture Thame's) anyway we where on this ship and it cruise's the Port and you look at Dolphin's or Porpusses Roll Eyes and go "OOOHH AAAAHHH" the cruise came complete with a 2 course meal and I went for the Chicken Schnitzel(which included gravy,Salad & Chips which is the Notrm arround here and Pavlova was the desert, all very nice IF you have taste buds and saliva "and guess who doesn't have such things, ayt the end of it all everything was nice and Dandy and we where soon on our return journey looking over the side of the ship and looking for the dolphins etc.
The fire situation (even though they have died done a bit) may get bad again as we have 50 - 75 klm winds coming. How could some one? just light fires for the hell of it (Bastards) should put them in a cage a slow cook them that would be too quick 173 confermed dead sofar.
I know I waffle on and on but I have the aim to live a long time and contact with you all keeps me going and for that I can't stop thanking you.
"I'll be back"

Hi Trev, glad to hear you and debs had a lovely anniversary. i've been on a diet to lose my "Post smoking pounds" so chips, gravy and pavlova has me drooling just thinking about it. Still I'm nearly there with the weight. I kind of made a bargain with God, when my son got ill, who has never smoked in his life I remember saying Please god if he makes it through I will give up smoking and I did, took up eating insteadSmiler

sending love across the oceans to you and Debs

Trev and Debs,

Blimey, I can't get over how busy you two are managing to keep. The party and the boat trip sound fabulous fun ...I am most envious of the dolphin spotting.

I love your attitude Trev - you are a real inspiration.

Hugs,
Cath

Hi! All,
I thought that I should get back and keep my thread going and keep you all up to date.
On the 12th Deb and I headed off down the coast for a lazy break and stayed with friends at their holiday house which I have talked about before. Got there in the afternoon only to go to bed as I was sooooo tired, Deb managed to stay awake whilst having here ear talked off by the host, lovely lady but boy can she talk?.
The host's did all the cooking and it was a lovely 3 days spent overlooking the sea from upon the cliff face, I must admit I didn't do much except for sleeping (somethings a bit crook and I get the feeling things are not 100%). We left there on the 15th and even with the 2hour drive Deb still managed to be up and about doing things around the house when we got back(Boy you women work a lot)
Howdy Mum, great to hear that you are getting on with your health kick and not ever having smoked just can't imagine how hard it would be to quit smoking but it's got to be worth it in the long run. Deb sends her love.
Hi! Ananth, boy it's been a while since your last post and it is good to see you, If I bring joy to 1 person on this Forum I feel that I have done some good take care my friend.
Hi! Cathys, I try very hard to keep busy and generally I get through but there are some day's when after a busy stint I will just collapse and then I suffer with pains and am totally washed out, but the boat trip was bloody excellent.
Gidday Cobber, every morning I log on to the forum and read everything going and sometimes I reread old post's and the site always brings a new spell of life for the old body. Some days I feel that TOO much from me will turn people off my thread and that would be sad. Deb and I spent Monday the 16th with Marley and that too is a way that brings life back to the old body and even if I am tired it's worth it, Marley is a great joy.
I find that I am feeling around my gut area looking for strange lumps and anything that I find and I don't think should be there I worry about it and wonder?, Currently I feel that the cancer site is getting firmer so that is something to bring to the notice of the GP when I see him next, anyway that's me for another day.
Love to you all
TREV

Dear Trev,

Lovely to hear from you again. I, like Cookey, was getting concerned about the silence. I don't think you should worry about posting things that might make us sad. We are here for you no matter what you write and it would be stressful for you if you felt pressured to only share your positive moments here. If it helps you to share worries or anxieties go for it.

You seem to be coping remarkably well, but it must be extremley difficult to be upbeat all of the time ...anyway do take care. I am off to a funderal today of a 77 year old uncle who died suddenly and I am going to find it difficult to express sympathies cos all I can think is -lucky bastard!

Love to youse and Debs
Cath

Hiya Trev

I don't post much these days, unless I feel I can maybe help someone, but I DO check in to have a look at your thread. Like everyone else, I become concerned when there are long silences - so please don't let it happen again Smiler

You gave my mum great hope when she was at her lowest ebb. You are a star !!

Love from Yorkshire.
