Dear Trev & Deborah, sorry I have been 'off' line since my last post visiting Granny Essie (my mother, 86 tomorrow), who isn't well, so missed your news and anyway since the 'furore' I had been taken off the notification list. (?)
Well you know what they say Trev, never say never. An old school friend of Bills' who was dx with pancriatic cancer and unbeknown to us was being treated the same time as Bill at the same hospital, they would have never recognised each other, having lost about 170 lbs between the two of them. That was May 2007, when he (another Trev - must be a good sign) was told he had three months because other tumours had been found. Well he is still going strong, perhaps given up hope of participating in the 2012 Olympics but still enjoying life. He never married so doesn't have the joy of a Marley or Charlie, they may be few but a lovely blessing. If only you could travel, we could do a house exchange. You could sit in the garden and chip the birds off frozen to the trees. Keep Debs fit by sawing logs which just keep alight till the next branch has been chopped - and you would have to be quick. I am running out of trees, Good to see your thread back to normal |

Hi! All,
Noemi thank you for your thoughts and oh! boy do I wish we could have some of your weather as 7.5degrees C even though cold would be a blessing as currently we are sweltering in 115degrees F and the air conditioner is going constantlyso then we are into having big power bills (Oh! well Trev have a bitch). some years back my son had a Swedish girlfriend who left Sweden in minus 30degrees C and the next day landed in Adelaide and it was plus 41degrees C, that was quite an extreme in climate change. AngieBabie, thankyou for your post it is always a joy to hear from you and I am sorry to hear that your mom is ill Debs Dad is 88 and is doing real fine (I thing they built them better back in those days). House swap NO WAY Deb & I would want to stay with you as what a thrill it would be to catch up to and be able to chat with a member of the elite group "TIFC" gee I could sign my autograph ( Yeh Trev ). Anyway great to catch up with you again I have to go as I am trying to beat Deb in a game of cards. Catch yuh Later Love Trev "I'LL BE BACK" |

Hi Trev and Deb, I wish it was that warm here at the moment. It's not mega cold, just bloody miserable most of the time and if it was 115 degrees I could burn my leather jacket and waterproofs and ride round in shorts and a tshirt (using factor 900 sun cream obviously, I wouldn't want to get skin cancer
I hope it cools a bit soon and your power bill goes down. Hagg. 13 years and still kicking it. Never give up your fight. |

Bill has just told me that we used £1081.08 worth of electricity and gas since the beginning of December. We are told we are going to have the coldest February since records began so…better chop some more logs.
Pity you are so far away perhaps we could introduce Debs Dad and my mum, reckon that what she needs. I helped her in and out of the bath yesterday, getting ready to go out to celebrate her 86th. She said ’just look at my breasts, they were firm and what do they call it, pert, until I had 'flu last year’ …oh, good, there hope for me then. Wouldn’t it be great to have a TIFC jamboree. We could have the pictures of you in the Deb designed chemo wig (for the unofficiated, see forum picture site) blown up outside the venue and copies of the wig and moustache available for all to wear, in fact lets have that as compulsory attire. Hope Debs didn’t let you win at the card game. |

Hello Everyone
Trevor asked me to check his post before he sent it and when I read it to him he thought it would be best to delete it. It didn't make a lot of sense! We decided that I would bring you all up to date on the latest. Late yesterday he was getting a bit agitated and didn't feel'right'. With no other symptoms, we decided to go to the hospital to have him checked out anyway. He was very distressed but couldn't describe how he was feeling. All vital signs were normal so there was nothing to worry about! (?) As it turned out I think Trevor was having an anxiety attack. He felt he was dying and still feels his time is running low. Needless to say we are having a bit of a hairy time at present as he has never had to deal with anxiety or depression and so doesn't recognise the signs and symptoms. We saw the oncologist today (thank goodness, our man was there. We weren't expecting to see him!) The fact is that there is no more treatment for Trevor. He isn't eligible for any trials due to his past history of Ca. So in light of his emotional state, Dr Brown has prescribed an anti-depressant and also steroids. He said that Trevor's cancer is probably the cause of his 'funny' feeling due to inflammation which causes various thingies to be released into his blood. He will start on a low dose due to his problems with steroids and hiccups and that will be increased weekly. So that's it basically. I will close with the last line of Trevor's post (the one that made sense!) "So even though I haven't gone yet I needed to tell you and also thank you for your love and friendship all this time. I will continue to "Blog" whilst I am able". Love Deborah |

Hi Angie
This is me, as me this time however I'm using Treovr's computer because mine is at the hot end of the house! As usual, you made me laugh you mad thing! Unlike Essie, I think I had the flu about 15 years ago!!!!! Don't worry about charity in relation to cards around this house. I made it quite clear to Trevor that my love and sympathies do not include giving him a run at cards. If he's well enough to have a game, he's well enough to take a belting. (who said I'm a hard and heartless woman??) Much sadness here as we had to have our beloved Pearl put down yesterday. I will have no regrets when we see the last of January. Hasn't been our best month. Catch you later Love Deborah xo |

I was watching the bush fires last night on the news, and hoping you are safe and clear from these terrible consequences of the heat wave.We are suffering the coldest winter for decades and are just about to get a siberian blast and expecting heavy snow over the next few days.Is there no happy medium in this crazy world?
Love liz Never take your eye off the ball it may just smack you in the mouth |

Great minds Cookey ,we were watching the news last night too ,the bush fires look terible and were wondering how Trevor and Debs were, not sure where abouts exactly you two are geographically .
We are feeling the freezing cold here terribly and our old boiler has not been off for some time now ,looks as if there is more to come .We don't get any snow because of the sea but get layers of sheet ice and freezing winds .Have taken to wearing and old pink teddy bear goonie an M & S furry thing I keep meaning to turf in the bin but this morning I am glad I didn't .Paul is back into his thermals and electric blanket on all night. This is excellent for him but I am at that tender age where I seem to self combust with hot flushes at night, if they would change to to the day time i would be well pleased . I hope you are safe from the bush fires and are managing to keep cool .I imagine your air conditionong bills are becoming like our fuel bills. As Cookey says it is indeed a crazy world. Warm wishes , Bell and Paul |

Hi! All,
Liz, Bell & Paul, we are lucky in that we do not live near to the woody fire belt and apart from some 85foot pine trees in our block we don't have fire problem as yet(one of the trees which is near on the biggest is full of wood worm and if it did fall we would lose our phone, power and probably the carportbut the local council say's the tree is a significant tree and is not allowed to be cut down. There have been a lot of trees that have fallen due to the dryness of the soil and the gusty winds that we get fairly often( I sometimes pray for a gust to blow the tree down but then we'd be blocked in till the emergency service came to remove the tree. The heat is pretty unbareable as we are into our 10th day of over 40c and for the next 4-5 days forcast of 39c till we have changeand then we will be able to shut down the airconditioner for a spell. Thank you for your fears and we are feeling for you with the cold you are going through, if we could alternate days that would be very nice, hang in there. Love from Trev |

Hi Trev ,great to hear you are not in the area of fires.Know what you mean about the council though they are the same here and very touchy about you making the decision to remove an old tree or even one that gives the house owner concerns .if you don't get proper permission they seriously impose a large fine.Well so far here the weather is cold and holding and the snow has not yet begun but it is dry and the winter sun shining with no winds making it a pleasant Sunday ,probably the calm before the storm ,sod law and all that .
Was thinking about a previous post Trev where I think it was Debs or maybe yourself said that you get hiccups with the steroids .Paul is still on a very low dose steroid now and previously on the higher dose had hic cups .They introduced Omeprazole for him to take alongside and this rectified the problem . thought I would just mention this . Give Debs our love also . Bell and Paul . |

Well its bloody freezing, blowing a gale, and has been flurrying snow all afternoon.I have locked the doors ,pulled the curtains and cranked up the heating.its going to be a rough few days i think.
Funny bell one of the hardest things i had to cope with when rob was poorly was the hot flushes lol.He was shivering in may and i was sweating buckets.two years on i would love a hot flush at night just to keep me warm,i do miss having a warm body to snuggle up to,and my dog is only little!!! Love liz Never take your eye off the ball it may just smack you in the mouth |
