I totally empathise with you Trev. It was so frustrating to have to give into my body when I knew there were jobs that had to be done. I did try to tackle a couple of the jobs but the resulting near collapse persuaded me me listen to my body and sleep when it said so!

Hi! All,
It is hard not to do things and I believe that "Big Ray" and I have somthing ih common and enjoy doing things around the house. The latest problem I am having is with the ISP and after spending 63minutes listening to so techo and then to be told that it is beyond his knowlege and expertise to get my "Emales" up to speed, so am looking at having to write them out by hand and delivere them personally. I can send them through snail mail and you may get them next year and by then I will have got my "Old age pension" andprobably be blind to boot. Well my friends I have taken my Tamazapans and am of to the land of Knod so wil get back to you in the am

Love to all
Sleepy TREV

Hi All
I think it was probably obvious to all that Trevor was drugged to the eyeballs with that last post!
That post was Thurs night and over the next few days he seemed to be going downhill, generally looking/feeling a bit worse each day ~ still insisting on overseeing that bloody garage!!!!! Only just though and by yesterday arvo was fading fast and was actually doing as he was told (nice change!) We visited our daughter and he virtually asked to come home (definitely never happened before) and he took to his chair once we got home. Later he said that he felt so lousy he had even considered going up to the hospital. Took his temp, it was 38.8 so off we toddled. It was rising each time they took his obs, so has an infection somewhere from somewhere! Admitted and had IV antibiotics. A shame he didn't feel well really because for the first time in months he had some colour to him!
Anyway he's feeling brighter today and his temp is down. They have done a chest xray and tried to give him another, different antibiotic today but he had a reaction so they ditched that idea.
Hopefully will have some news and maybe some idea on the 'bug' tomorrow when we should get some blood results. Puts Friday's chemo in jeopardy.
The dr also upped the pain meds today, that's 3 times in 10days. He'll be a zombie at this rate.
Anyway gang, just wanted to touch base and keep you in the loop. My daughter has fixed my internet glitches and now I'm back on track. A relief. Nice to have company again.
Keep well and/or happy everyone
Love
Deborah

Hi Deborah ,nice to hear from you but sorry to hear Trev is unwell and in hospital. You will be feeling tired and frazzled .At least in hospital they will get him hydarated and find the right antibiotic to get him stabilized .Blasted Chemo always has it down side making people so prone to infection I do hope they get him sorted out soon. Please let him know we are all sending our love and hope he is soon home in his chair overseeing his garage DIY.

Please try and get some rest yourself Deborah. Thinking of you both .
Love Bell and Paul.x

G'day Liz
Lovely to hear from you. Are you home or still soaking up the sun on the beaches of Abu Dhabi?
I'm hanging in there, thanks. I think I was just so relieved yesterday to know that Trevor was being looked after by people that he wouldn't answer back to, that I wilted! Mind you, the weather could also have been a contributing factor. 41 today is the forecast so I guess we'll be up to 44 or so.
How are YOU doing? Have you heard there is a final season of McLeod's Daughters? It's on here at present.
I'm happy to pass on a kiss to Tricky Trev but am knocking back the offers of hugs~ don't want to break him! He'll be more than happy to receive it too.

Thanks Bell for kind wishes and thoughts (as always). Trevor just phoned. He will be in hospital for at least another couple of days apparently and he is to have another transfusion as his blood is shot in all areas! Little wonder he's given up dancing!!
Our GP doubts there will be chemo this week however he'll get in touch with the Royal Adelaide today for their input.
The fact that he is in our local hospital ~ only 5 minutes away, makes life a whole lot easier. I don't have to leave home in the morning and stay there all day because of the distance. At least this way I can just duck to and fro and it makes it easier too for friends to visit.
Trevor's brother and s-i-l are coming over from Melbourne this weekend so with Trevor out of the way at least it will be easier to get the house cleaned!
Love
Deborah

Hi Cathy
Thanks for your thoughts. Notice from your other post that you're a bit down at the moment. Life sucks at times, doesn't it. There's just no denying it.
This morning when I went up to visit Trevor, had I not known differently I would have thought he was quite healthy looking however by this evenings visit he had faded somewhat! I had collected Marley on the way though to go for a visit with Granpa and that was pretty special.
The dr confirmed this evening that there will be no chemo this week, bloods looking just a tad too knocked around to consider it. He wasn't too concerned about the infection and feels that Trevor's white count was so lousy that some little bug just got the better of him.
Hellishing hot here today makes life a bit tough but they are promising a cool change tomorrow so we'll only get to 34/36!
Keep your collective chins up (meaning as a family, not your own personal chinS!) Cathy. I know it is much more easily said than done.
Love
Deborah

Hi Liz
I think this MD series is another 'final' series because I'm sure it finished last year down here as well.
The last mail I had from you involved face book and some pics. I responded but I had a feeling that it didn't work. I just don't get face book. It's too complicated for me!!!! What does that tell you when I think kids use it! Ho hum.
You looked very, very tanned and happy.
I forwarded your kiss to Tricky Trev (who sadly, isn't up to too many tricks right now). He was most appreciative.
Love
Deborah

Hi Ange
Love to you as well. I thought I'd scared you off!!!
Conditions are very mild in the hospital and I'm very happy for Trevor to be there for more reasons than one. I hadn't realised that I needed some space but brother I'm bushed.
A number of other issues on the go here as well as I think poor Pearl is on the way out. I'm going to try to work up the courage to take her to the vet tomorrow. Add to that, I have Peta's dogs here tonight as well and one of those is 'lingering' as well. Got any good news??
Great to hear from you
Love
Deborah

Hello all,
this is my first time using this forum, I don't know how to post a question, so I am doing it this way, (reply to) but I am not replying, I am just trying to get a question on the board. I am sorry if I am confusing things.
What I need to know is:
Is there any survivors of Throat cancer, on the voice box that had only radiation / chemo, and not surgury?
I am shaking like a leafe (spelled wrong) I am so scared. I just finished 7 weeks of radiation, I did no have any surgury, I had 2 treaments of Chemo. Now I am up for the cat scan and MRI and ct scan, to see if all is ok, I have heard that the cancer could come back or they couldn't get all of it from other forems, I don't know, I am just so upset, can someone help me please.
Annette

Hi Debs

Just logged on to check on how both you are doing.
Sorry to read that Trev is in hospital. Give him and big hug from us over here.

Lots of love

Tony and Kathy

Hi to you Annette

Sorry to hear that you have HAD the big C, there are many survivors (I'm one of them) not the voice box but close to it. You have come to the right place.

You might want to check out the laryngecttomee part just below question and answers. Does not matter where you post someone will always answer you.

Something that might cheer you up, I was away on holiday last month and started speaking to a lady who was sat next to me one thing led to another and she mentioned that she had mouth cancer 26 years ago, she was full of life and good fun so there you go.

Hope the above helps.

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony
Welcome back! How was your holiday? Don't even answer that ~I'm sure it was fabulous.
I've just spoken to Trevor and the dr has been in already this morning. He will have two units of blood (takes about 10 hours) and then he'll come home so that's good.
Thanks (as always) for your good wishes. Hope you are both rested and ready to tackle another year.
Love
Deborah
