Hi Trev and Debs ,my goodness what a fun time you have been having that was a super idea I bet by the time the house was cleared Debs might be thinking about pinching one your Steroids for a pick me up !!( am I right Debs ? )If you are swinging from the rafters Trev will know )
Paul is still on a very low dosage 500 microgrammes but soon will need to come off them .Trev ,they made Paul ravenous and I could not keep the cupboards full enough and now he feels he is getting porky ,lol. You seem to be very busy getting Trev's private film in order, hope you have given it a great title !!!( Maybe everyone on the Forum could suggest a title and you could be judge and Jury) .We have always been ones for recording everything from christenings ,xmas and holidays. Our kids when they were small were fine but when they got to teenagers used to moan when Paul would appear to take a wee film. .Now they are all grown up they always pull them out and show the boyfriends pour souls , but have a great laugh at what they were like and it is also so nice to see how everyone has grown and matured . I have a feeling you are going to produce a blockbuster here Trev.Pleased to hear you are in good spirits and enjoying the party season !! . Best wishes to you and Debs . Bell and Paul x |

Trev and Debs, So pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful weekend and that Trev managed a few brandy and cokes....I haven't had one for years and might have to remedy that in the near future.
It sounds as if you are going to have lots of fun with your movie making. Have you got Debs a director's chair yet? Perhaps you can make an episode for us and put it on the web? You have inspired me to ask Santa to put a camcorder in our christmas stocking. Take care and good luck with the filming. Cath |

Hi Trev and Debs, really glad you had a good weekend, you both deserve it. Glad you got a couple brandys down Trev, that's always going to help. Keep up the good work and as Cath says, good luck with the filmimg. I cant think of a title offhand but I'll try and come up with some suggestions. Hagg.

Hi! All,
Well things seem to be on the up in regards to my first lot of treatment as over the last couple of days I have noticed an improvement in my taste buds and my last 2 or 3 meals have actually tasted of what they should taste(well almost all) anyway to me this i fabulous as I must admit not tasting food(when you used to love food like I did)was an absolute downer. My daughter asked me if I was experiencing any side effects from my 3rd lot of Chemo and it made me think back and I do believe that I have not had any side effects as yet. There are times when I wish we were able to have a good snowfall BUT a drop or two of rain would be a blessing, temperature wise we have been very lucky as it hasn't been below 17 through the nights and it is generally about 27 during the day(AHHH perfect). Hi Trev, glad there aren't any side effects, that's a blessing. Temperature here isn't quite as good as you've got. I work on the highways, (well, until xmas) and we had to rescue a fire engine that got trapped by black ice on Tuesday lol. Bit chilly here and I wish I was there with some warmth. Being a biker in GB is crap to say the least. Hagg.

Hi Trev, I just come from the pub, eaten two bowls of minestrone soup, with a bit of finely sliced ham, had the lot, tasted lovely. Now I must go and brush my teeth, go read a book.
I am writing this because you are quite an inspirational person. You have been such , well you and Deborah, a pillar of strength to me, I aim to come and see you sometime. Respect, Nigel |

Hi Trev,
It's very cold here in Ireland below freezing at night with icy roads. Glad you are getting a taste of some food and not suffering too badly from the Chemo. How do you cope with dry mouth in your climate and heat? All the best Ken One Year Survivor |

Hi! All,
Well things are improving day by day with my taste buds as over the last week or so I have noticed that I am starting to taste things that I haven't since my R/T treatment commenced July last year a[art from sweet and salty things everything else was lost. Sleeping properly is still a problem what with my new treatment having been a failure I am not getting sleep unless I take Tamazapan & Endome prior tp going to bed and if I wake up through the night a second lot& all this does is make me dopey(I am not ALWAYS dopey) through the day add that to the Steroids and I can't even imagine whats going on. I did take the car for a run today as I haven't driven for 4 months and even though it was only a short trip I was happy for it, I had to get some "C" chanel for the roller door I am getting tomorfrow and this will make my(Deb's) garage more secure(I do like to keep my hands in the dirty things and even though it will not be for long it is still an enjoyment to do something). Anyway enough of my babbling and I hope to hear from you all. "I'll be back" TREV |

Wow Trev you are amazing. Am so pleased that you have been enjoying some new taste return. It must make such a difference for you and Debs. Dealing with not being able to taste anything seems to be one of the cruellest things about this treatment. Miserable for the patient and likely to make social engagement a bit awkward. We get the occasional invite to gatherings that revolve around food and at the moment I am refusing as I dont want them to make Chaz feel awkward. Yesterday I was wondering how others that post here have managed that.
Sorry you are feeling dopey, but its important you get your sleep, especially if that allows you to get on with DIY projects. Hope the work on the garage door goes well. Best Cathy |

Hi Trev, glad you managed to go for a drive. I always found when I was having treatment and stuff that getting out on the road helped loads, even if it was only a short blast. I dont really do DIY if I can help it because I'm crap at it, but I did build a bike in my front room while I was recovering from my RT(warmer than the shed). Could only do a little bit at a time but got there in the end. Mrs loved it, NOT.

Hi Trev, great to hear from you. Glad that your taste is coming a bit too. Nothing like hitting the open road to clear the head. Hope you manage a bit more sleep soon though, nothing worse than not sleeping enough.
Keeping you and Debs in my thoughts, sending a hug across the oceans to you both Mum xxx |

Good grief, Haag! I thought only American rednecks had bikes in the living room! Every episode of "Cops" seems to have at least one of these winners being arrested for something or other. Mimi PS: Before anyone screams about my use of the word "redneck," please google proud to be a redneck and look through the 2,180,000 hits that come up. Gawd, how I hate to feel it necessary to make that disclaimer. I'm part Irish - I've heard Irish jokes all my life and never once complained. Usually those jokes are pretty damn funny. |

Not just rednecks Mimi. We do it here too. It was much nicer to do it in front of a roaring fire and watching music channels on tv.
