A few weeks ago I asked for some help on how to explain to the children what their mum is going through, well not so much the younger one more my 12 year old, as she seems to be growing up so quickly right before my eyes. She has so many moods I can't keep up and we thought it may be because of all the talk of hospital and people coming and going and giving me hugs all the time that she was maybe coming up with her own ideas on what was wrong.
She was staying at her Grans at the weekend and she had a long talk with her and more or less explained everything that my two operations had not worked and what they found in the biobsy and that I was going to be ill for a while but I would get better. You see my problem was I didn't want to say the word CANCER to her, I thought she was too young , but I was wrong. I spoke to her myself and asked if she had any questions, and told her I could give her stuff to read explaining radiotherapy and what mum was going to go through, and I must say it has made a difference, I have my little girl back again, she is not 'fighting' against me and actually being nice to me again, I was thinking I was the worlds worst mum for a while, but realise it was all the secrecy that was frightening her. We must give them credit for being able to accept situations given the chance, at least everything is out in the open now.

Thanks for your advice
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Oh Tracey that made me so sad to read that. I do recall you wondering about telling them about things and I'm so glad it's worked out that your daughter understands more thanyou imagined. So it looks like you will have a Christmas together with her wanting to make the most of it with you.

Happy Christmas to you too and to everyone else and a healthy new year too - I know we all want that last phrase!

Thanks Pauline
Jade has been very helpful around the house now and I have spoken to her a coulpe of times asking if she understands what we have told her and telling her if she is unsure of anything to come and ask.
I have my mould appointment tomorrow I'm a bit nervous about that, but I am fed up waiting on these appts that I just want them to hurry up and start, the unknown is driving me mad Banghead
Best wishes
