My mum's burns on the outside of her neck have healed miraculously well - no dressing at all now.
Inside her mouth is still very sore, but she can talk again. Her problem, which she has just admitted to me, is that she is scared to try to eat anything. She is having small sips of water but she is genuinely scared that she is going to choke if she tries anything else. I have told her to mention this at the hospital this afternoon, but did anyone else experience this feeling ? Are there any tips to aid swallowing which I could maybe pass on to her. |

If your mum is managing to swallow sips of water, why doesn't she try moving on to sips of full fat milk maybe? The thicker milk shakes or complan or skandishakes, then maybe runny porridge. She should then ease some of her fears.
