Hi Suzie

Radiotherapy is often used to treat the cancer when surgery would result in too high a cost in terms of morbidity and quality of life. Do ask his surgeon or the contact nurse for their view.

Radiotherapy can improve matters, but its success varies with the tumour and patient. Length of life given to us is not for us to know. Just hope for the best and make the best of each day - enjoy and be grateful for whatever time there is. Pray for the best. Our prayers and best wishes are with you and your nephew.

Best wishes

Hi Suzie

Pauline's Diary describes the effects of radiotherapy to the neck. You may find her advice on coping with the radiotherapy of help to your nephew.

Best wishes
