4 Years after Rad

Hi All, It is the 4th year after that rough ride. 40 Days of rad. Now I have radiation necrosis in my jaw. That stops the bone from living and supporting the soft tissue that feed the bone with blood. Solutions are not easy. I start Oxygen decompression this week. I will be in a diving tank for 2 hours a day. After that, removal of the effected bone, temp titanium replacement and if that goes well, transplant with the hip bone into my jaw. Maybe I will wiggle when I smile...for now, it is pain and he risk of infections. Its like a bad tooth ache.
The cancer is over, but the awful rad did a job. I have been eating live foods for 4 years, sprouts, clean food, juices. Otherwise, we all tend to regress into the old normal life bypassing that warning call called cancer.

Oh crap, buddy. I don't think I wanted to know about this! I was off in some la-la land where people like us can only get better...and then we get smacked in the face by people like dear dear Brenda, cookey's Robin, so many others, and now your story. I didn't expect this!

I've had rads twice now, for both breast cancer and tonsil cancer - total 72 zap sessions. I've got a great quality of life and wouldn't trade my decisions for anything, but it doesn't always end there, does it?

Best of luck to you my new Swiss friend. I'm not the prayin' kind but I'll look inward for you often.

Please let us know how you're progressing.

Mimi

That's sh**e news Christopher. I had to have Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for 5 hours a day for 6 weeks because I had to have a wisdom tooth out on my bad side, it wasn't long after my RT. The worst thing with it was the boredom but I think they have a tv and DVD player now. They didn't have anything like that when I went. Good luck with it all. Hagg.
