Hello everyone and thanks to Dr V for his good wishes - the op went ahead this time! Now recovering from the "flap debulking"
op which has left me with a mouthful of stitches, swollen tongue, but generally okay. The worst bit was having a fibre optic
camera inserted before the anaesthetic which took the best part of an hour to do, that's before "going under" for theatre.
Still, it had to be done and I'm now on the mend. They found an old suture in my trachy from the original operation in March,
so I have five stitches in my neck too!
Before going into hospital on the Monday I had my coffee morning in the house on the previous Friday for Mouth Cancer Awareness week. I was amazed at the turn-out, over 90 people came through the door (I don't have that many cups!) and we raised over £1,200!! That is with the sale of my Christmas cards as well, which are still selling. Dr V has put my newspaper article under Awareness Week Support (topic below) and there should be a picture in the local rag this week as well. I did a trawl of a few dentists in my area during MCAW and not one of them had heard of the event. We must make them sit up next year! I'm looking forward to cathing up with all your news.
