Well I'm back in the ditch and my doctors have given me options. I've possibly decided on one, but thought I'd get some feedback.

So I was a nasopharynx NK/T-cell lymphoma sufferer and then I was treated. Well, its come back, but in the form of a lump on my hip this time. Not painful, no fevers or chills yet. I'm semi-normal, didnt get enough time to get to fully normal.

So my doctor has given me a couple of options. Since I had a bone marrow transplant, they want to do it again, but this time use someone else's cells. They think my marrow is shit and someone elses might do me better. The problem here is, it usually takes a couple of months to get a donor. So, while I'm on the list the docs suggested a clinical trial. When he suggested it I realized that for my case, there isnt much scope for survival. That sucks big time.

So I donno what to do. I donno if I should wait it out until they find a donor......or place myself on this clinical trial and possibly live to tell the tale.

What you guys think.

Hi Rohit

Have you checked with any of your friends or relatives to see if there might be a donor among them? I've heard of something called "paired donation" for kidney transplant. Simply put, A wants to donate to B, they don't match. C wants to donate to D, but they don't match. Luckily A matches D, and B matches C. Maybe this could be applied to bone marrow as well.
Hoping for the best.

Julia

Hi Rohit,

sorry to hear you have to face treatment again what an awful blow.Im afraid I do not know much about bone marrow transplant ,my husband had Nasopharyngeal cancer and we were offered RT and chemo, 3 years later after doing a biopsy because they were removing scar tissue recurrent cells were found and he went through more RT a second time but a different type .

This a difficult decision to make but at least there is hope of more treatment for you .If you do the trial now, does it mean you cannot then do the BMT when a donor is found? and what does this new trial entail Rohit, is it a new form of chemo tablet or new type of chemotherapy ?

Sorry about asking all these questions but was not clear as to whether it was an either or .Julia has made good sense regarding a donor from friends and family so maybe they would be up for being cross matched, certainly would be worth looking into Rohit.

Keep us all posted thinking of you .

I agree with you rogerit, but I dont know if its good that I just wait for a donor and not do something meanwhile. I feel good and everything, but with cancer things seem to change so quickly.

Julia: am gonna ask my doctor about this. It seems like a good idea.

Bell: Its actually not an either or. Its more either I can just wait for donor, or do the clinical trial while waiting for donor. So more like a either, or both. I'm possibly thinking about both. I had CT and PET scans last friday to check and make sure there isnt any hidden lymphoma stuff. Should be getting report by possibly wednesday.

I think there are always options, the problem only is that radiation and chemo are certified solutions, whereas clinical trials and in the works.

Well, I have a couple of weeks. Hopefully something good will happen.

Hi Rohit,

Please follow this link and watch the three parts.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=npgyZMaewuE&feature=related

Fungal infection is dominant in almost all cancer patients.
Almost all cancer patients have highly acidic systems conducive to fungi and bad bacteria.
These little nasties will start a healing process.
