Hello all ,thank you for your replies nice to hear from you and hope Alex has kept you busy over the holidays Cathy .

Life here very busy with physio coming in 3 days a week and now managing to get him to stand up and transfer to chair and bed without keeling over so his confidence is building .Getting the exercises done 3 times a day is another matter and tires him out but persevering we have weights to add on round his ankles and he is not so fussed about this one but getting there .So hoping next week we try some walking as at moment I am back to the board as it is still to early for me manage him on my own .

Was kind of hoping we wuld have been managing the road runner by now (zimmer frame )but is going to take some time .

His face is still weird with hard swelling on cheeks and bright red so anti biotics have made no difference there at all.Does not seem so sore though just tingly ,such a minefield of odd things and feelings around head and neck .Pain more settled again apart from his neck so looking upwards or lying back very uncomfortable .Mood swings have been better last week or so and he is more cheerful and sense of humour back which is just dandy .

My daughter's have been down every weekend and has been good but they are going on holiday next week and I will miss them all being away at the one time.Makes me feel a llittle anxious as this is the longest spell we have had without an emergency trip to hospital so just praying this continues till they all come home .

Not really been doing anything exciting to blether about or share a wee anecdote apart from falling out with repair men who seem to think a machine over 4 years old should be replaced immediately !!! OMG what do they think I took the insurance cover out for .

This computer is driving me mad also ,fair do's she is 10 years old mind you ,but unsure what to get and the hassel of setting up the broadband is a bit daunting although i would like to try this wireless thingy then i could move about with it and be more comfy and also share some things with Paul maybe even teach him how to use it !!!.

So ...anyone clued up on laptops and best buys with advice on this would be most helpful.Well was just a thought I know it is not the usual request here but just jotting down what's on my mind. Will probably end up recruiting the boyfriends to help out but would like to try and get on with it myself so will have a look online.

I do hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer, weather here been wet and feel a change in the air now,Summer seems to be passing so quickly and my plants starting to look a little weary .

Ok just having a prattle now, so will retry Deb's blog to see the T shirts which I still have not managed to find .

Love Bell x

Oh my how kind ,Tee Hee .Well ....I like a laptop and have BT broadband which is connected with Bt Voyager 105 ADSL Modem pretty old I suspect, I get something like a 6.7mbs speed although I should get more but don't there is a large hotel along the road and I am sure they will have wireless so was hoping that if I changed to wireless things would get faster and also a new computer with the new stuff in it .

Would like a decent one but not over the top as I only e mail, use MSN and save photos and need microsoft word and some office stuff ,Have my original office pack but is way back to 200 but works ok for letters and document stuff .Don't watch movies or play any fancy games or burn CD's so don't need any over the top fancy stuff .

Have looked on the Dell site but can't get to grips with all the technology .So really any advice on an nice no problems machine would do nicely probably need good space as I am bad at deleting things just in case I need them same with photos.

Regards the wireless thing not sure if this means I need to have a home hub and when reading about it all ,some people say don't install the CD and some say do and this kind of bothers me if its going to be a proper faff .

Tried to ask some of theese questions on their site with the type talk thing but ended up him trying to change my package and selling me other things .Don't have enough time to drive to PC world and potter round at moment as I can't leave Paul for too long .So wondered if it was safe to buy online providing I know what is best to order .But i guess I will still need to order some kind of gizzmo from BT to do the wireless though .

Bet your sorry now you offered some advice .

Thank you ,

Bell.

Hi ,this morning was not a good one ,Paul awake at 4am in awful pain and very sick so did the usual with heat and cold packs and his medication but nothing was working ,his poor face was worse so swollen and hard and his head and neck untouchable .Phoned hospice early and advised as what extra pain meds i could give him and explained that what i was getting down was not staying down .
Had the emergency doctor out who then spoke to hospice and was decided to send him to head and neck ward where he is under his ENT specialist .

They examined and scoped and said their was poison and puss running from Nasopharnyx causing the problems so have him set up now on an anti biotic drip .This now explains the the face redness and swelling and increased pain, was such an awful morning.

Hoping the next few days relieves things and helps settle things for a good while .

Bell.

My Dear Bell,

You poor things. I am so sorry Paul's and your remarkable progress and determination on the walking front has been blighted by infection. Lets hope the antibiotics get everything stable quickly and that he can start zimmering really soon.

I am all anxious at the moment. Chaz's headaches have increased in intensity and frequency and although on the one hand this could be because he and Alex eat so much fat when Alex visits, I fear something more sinister. Luckily we have a consultants appointment today so I am mustering up the courage to demand that if the headaches continue he gets a scan. I just so want him to be able to go to university this October without any problems.

Hope Paul feels better quickly and that you are ok. You sound as if you are coping so well in the most difficult and distressing circumstances. Paul is so lucky to have you.

Big hugs

Cathy

Morning Cathy ,lovely to hear from you as always .Hope the appointment today goes well and you muust raise the headache issue otherwise you will come home irritable and it won't go away .Probably something quite expected due to RRT damage or can usually be a build of gunk in nasal area or back of throat etc but best dicussed .Paul was sometimes naughty at not mentioning some things usually because there was so many other wee things bothering him and I used to come home anxious because I didnt get it off my chest and get a suitable answer .

Let me know how things go Cathy will be thinking of you both today ,

Love Bell.

Hi Bell

So sorry to hear that Paul is not so good this morning. Both you and him have really been through it.

I really admire you Bell as in all your postings you always seem so calm and in control. Not sure if my hubby would be if I was having to go through what poor Paul is.

Hope he is feeling better soon.

Take Care
