I should have remembered to post this on November 11, but forgot. Sorry!

This is a link to a song by Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Blues Band. It's a tribute to WWII and Korean War vets, a thank you before they've all left us. It's American-Centric (Dr. Sam is a US physician) but you'll see some pix of Brit vets as well. The message is the same for all.

Before You Go

I get very teary eyed watching this, remembering my Dad and uncles who all fought in the Pacific. They all came home safely but with some gruesome stories to tell. Wonderful guys, all of them.

If the link doesn't work for you, google 'dr sam before you go' and you'll get a list of other sites that contain the same song. You should be able to find one that works for you.

I'm glad to be able to share this and hope it's as meaningful for you all as it is for me.

Mimi

Thanks Mimi, that was beautiful.
I am ex-Army and worked in a training battalion for National Servicemen (Nashos) in 1969. These guys had been 'called up' for service in Vietnam. It was not a good time. How great it would be if the day ever came when we didnt' have to worry about war.
Cheers

Hi Mimi,

How lovely, very moving. My dad was posted to Egypt for 3 and half years, a week after he married my mum, thankfully he returned. What a dreadful waste of young life.

Hi Mimi, I think it's sad that wars are needed at all. RIP to all the fallen.

13 years and still kicking it. Never give up your fight.
