Hi everyone,

since having been diagnosed with ACC in April I have also become a moderator for a members only forum solely for people/relatives/carers of people who also have ACC. There are also private forums on the same site for patients of other Adult rare and pediatric cancers.

I think this forum may be a good resource for anyone else who has ACC or another rare cancer and as such I was wondering if it is acceptable to post the URL of this forum.

I ask this because I wouldn't like to step on anyone elses toes or seem like I am advertising another site.

I just thought it could be useful but I'm unsure if there is anyone else with Acinic Cell who uses this message board.

If anyone would like to let me know if this is acceptable then I would be most grateful.

All the best
Sarah

Hello Sarah
My cancer is Acinic cell and I now have secondaries and due to have a repeat operation on the right side of my jaw. My daughter uses the ACC site a lot and finds it very helpful but I find this one far more friendly and easy to use. There does seem a lack of research/information generally about ACC but would be happy to learn of any new developments. Regards Brenda.

Hello Sarah

Everyone's welcome here. The MCF website's section on Salivary Gland cancers has links to two Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma sites but not an Acinic Cell Carcinoma site. So, do let us know of your forum/website, it can only help those who need the help and info it may provide. I will look into getting a link to some info on this rare salivary gland cancer on our website. Thanks.

Best wishes

Thank you both for your replies to actual website isadult rare & pediatric cancer
And there is a forum for which registration is required as it is private to each specific type of cancer.

I use all three sites (this one, the ACC one and the rare cancer one) and find the combination of all three is helpful.

If you have any questions about it please let me know.

All the best

Sarah
