Hi Ananth,
Many best wishes for your birthday. When I first joined the site, last year yours was the first survivour story I read. I actually laughed and cried reading all you had been through.Of course the thought came, "If he can do it so can I" You are a great insperation and I wish you the best day with love. I too have a big birthday coming up 50 the end of next month and it is thanks to all the people here, that I can see a way forward and am going to enjoy it. I just popped to the local shop. Still peg fed and struggling to eat but bought a toffee desert to toast your birthday instead of cake. (By the way, my body parts do strange things too. Mostly my head. If I meditate, I can actually take it off and replace it with the one I had before the cancer. It is a great way to deal with pain when medication is not working. If I have to do a task and my arm or leg are not up to it (nerve damage) I meditate first and change them too!) Sounds mad I know, perhaps you do it unconsiously!.) Anyway back to the toffee desert. Cheers and hope your 50th is even better! Susie R. x |

Hi Ananth,
Both Robert and I hope you had a great birthday. We think your son is very wise to want to stay in India to study. We visited last year (for the cricket of course!) and it is now our favourite country. We are contemplating visiting again next year as we loved it so much and we have some fantastic memories. The problem we have is that Robert can't eat anything spicy and may struggle to eat. Still we have time yet and the lure of your country is so great we might just go anyway. With love from Lorraine & Robert |

Dear Suzie,
What can I say about a mail like yours except thank you from the bottom of my heart.Yes, I agree it could not have been a nicer day with all the messages from friends on this site and that certainly besides anything else made my day. When is your birthday? I will buy a cake and share it with everyone here and tell them also why I am doing it - a dedication to a lovely person who is celebrating her birthday ( no age will be disclosed!!!). I really do not know why but I have suddenly started very peaceful with myself. I really do noy know how to describe it but since yesterday I have lost all my sentiments or worries regarding my cancer or my family. Its as though if it is there/they are there its fine and even if not -so be it. Its really a very peaceful feeling and I have been wondering what its leading upto. Do keep writing in as all my friends do - it will be great to hear from you. My other id for your information if anytime you want to write to me its; ananthshenoy@email.com. Take care and lots of love, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Dear Lorraine and Robert,
Thank you for your warm wishes and its these messages that now make my day special unlike arlier where it used to be a big party!. I found it strange about my son wanting to live and study in India but he is adamant., even after getting admission with complete scholorship at Stanford! But then he is almost an adult now and I want him to decide what he wants to do rather then thrust things onto him. He has got admission to some of the best colleges here and lets see how it goes from here as he is doing a three year degree ( honors) in Geography!!!! and also a degree in computer application - where he will go into detail abot anything and everything that had to do with a computer. Thats what I am looking forward to. I too love India but guess am more European in my thoughts and do find things a bit difficult to adjust to even after being in India for a long time now. I used to enjoy the food as the variety available is fantastic - every state and every community have their own cusine. I am glad yo really liked it and loved India even though you came for the cricket of which I am a hardcore fan on the men in blue. I just finished watching the ODI between South Africa and India and India really did a great job. The last of these matches is on Sunday after which we play one against Pakistan and then......watch out England- the Indians are going to bury them in their own backyard. I will be watching all the matches. Do make another trip to India and if you do so, you can always contact me on my phone and I shall be there for any kinf of asistance. Lots of love to both of you, Ananth Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Hi Tony,
Saying thank you has become an old stanard line that everyone sends on ones reply so I decided that I will start with you. I would not like to thank you for your good wishes but would like to do so for thinking about me. This makes a very big difference in my life. Love, Ananth

Dear Michelle,
I am really falling in love with your messages as they are really heart warming and full of positive energy. Nothing will ever stop you from doing something because of the thing called Cancer or the treatment - Chemo!!! You are too nice and strong to let that take place in your heart. So thank a ton a ton again Michelle and I dedicate this day now to you and hope you will tell us how your day went off. Thats going to be a new chapter not just in your lives but so many of us who still have to gather our thoughts. So have a great day and do write in. Love, Ananth UOTE]Originally posted by Chelle: Actualy Ananth, Today is a big day for me too. I'm going back to my old job of dog grooming for the first time! I've just got the kit out and duisted it off! The week i was diagnosed with cancer was the same week the shop fitters came round to measure up my grooming salon. I was just on the verge of starting my own grooming business. Due to circumstances that had to be put on hold. & the nerve damage i suffered from chemo meant i couldn't even hold a pair of scissors! Well, i've been practising on my partner (cutting his hair) & i'm just about there! So today i have my first appointment in a long time! I'm so nervous but this thing hasn't held me back in any other way & it wont stop me from doing this either! So i dedicate this day to you & everyone else who fought to get back their life! Where there's a will there's a way! Happy birthday again Ananth! Many happy returns! Michelle[/QUOTE] Live on your beliefs and strength- and you will become immortal. |

Also I ope you and your family had a great day today. I will have to eat my cake tomorrow and will be thinking of you as you embark on the last of your forties.
