What about recurrent oozing sores in very back sides of mouth. They don't look like aphthous ulcers exactly, though my adult son has a history of those recurring. The back of his mouth looks lumpy. Could this be mouth cancer? How do you get a physician to look back there carefully and see the full extent of this. I am in the USA. LVM | |||

Hi LM There are normal bumps at the back of the tongue. Recurrent ulcers, that heal and return, are most unlikely to be a cancer Get your son to see an ENT or Maxillofacial Surgeon for an examination - they should be able to look at the back of the tongue and advise you further.
