Morning guys, I am in a delema over my work situation
I can only work about three hours before being shattered
If I work only a few hours I am penalised from benefits
I do not get a work Pension
I am 46yo now and terrified that if I live long enough to get a Pension I will be living on the breadline
If I had the money to save for old age I would invest wisely and NOT buy a Pension which I feel is not doing the best thing with saving
By the way I live alone and single (offers by email he he)

Cheers

Paul

In my opinion, you should work the three hours, even if it costs you benefits. It will be good for your soul.

Hi Ron, The three hours a days I do voluntary but it does not give me anymore confidense or fulfillment as I have always done voluntary work of one kind or another so it feel normal for me to do that.
I think I need a challenge on my terms basically doing the job when I am up to it

SmilerHi Paul re work, yes you will get tired, but it may just help to take your mind of things, I am self employed ao I have had to battle on, some times you do need a bit of a challenge, my work is sporadic, so I do free translations, just to keep my mind working and fully occupied, otherwise my throat problems take over and I feel quite down. The lone battle is a bit of a hard road, but I won't let the bugger beat me. I use this word not in the English context, It is derived from Bulgar and was a term used for the Cathares who came from Bulgaria and were considered heretics and nothing to do with anal sex as it has been used in a moden context.See what I mean about keeping the mind off the throat and neck problems Ashamed

Paul, I sympathize with you, but don't think you'd be getting any more confidence from being on total disability.

Garance, I believe that the self-same Bulgars were also accused of the forbidden sexual practice, so that "buggery" has about the same word origin as "sodomy", the latter referring to the unholy practices in Sodom.

I finished my radiotherapy and chemotherapy on May 20th this year and went tentatively back to work at the end of July and now work 4 days a week and have found being 'back to normal' a great benefit. Having said that I am still eating via my peg and will probably not be able to eat properly until April/May next year. I do get tired and spend most of Friday morning in bed - not to mention Sat and Sunday!
