So how do you calculate your cancer free anniversary. Do you start from the date you finished treatment? or the date you got your good results? or ?

I count each day that I have survived post diagnosis as an anniversary and a bonus. And there have been many: God has poured His grace upon me, praise God for calling me to know Him.

We have today and our memories; tomorrow is a mystery which we can face with excitement or fear or as I do with a mixture of each. Alan

Good question!

I think I'll count my first anniversary as being one year after my operation, as that is the first date that I may have been cancer-free after diagnosis. The subsequent R/T & Chemo were longer periods which don't lend themselves to providing an anniversary date.

How long for you now?

Hi and thanks for replying.

My Dad finished his treatment one year ago today (June 2, 2006). He had a neck dissection surgery March 13, 2007. No cancer found!.

So if we are counting the end of treatment date, then it's been one year. Yippee!

I count my anniversary date from the MRI scan results that told me I was clear

I'll also go the last day of treatment. I was probably cancer free half way through chemo but i think of it as just the begining cuz the worse bit was still to come!
