Dear Susie
Thank you so much. I am sure that even if the long-term outlook isn't entirely positive, it will help my Dad to know that he is not alone with this problem, and I'll be sure to tell him to be careful with his bra straps!

My lovely Ananth,
Believe me, I have long known that men never grow up, and I'm sure that many here will back me up (Liz, are you reading this?). My Dad is no different, and I certainly wouldn't seek to change him - unfortunately, when it comes to stubborness we are very alike. The consultant told him that he'd probably torn the tendon away from joint and that this had probably taken a fragment of bone with it and he should get it x-rayed. We drove back to my home town, parked around the corner from the hospital - I said why not get it sorted now? What happened ... we went to mobile phone shop!!
Perhaps I should give up - there again you know that's not going to happen!

Love and hugs, Sara
