I watched the programme on Saturday night 1st November and Natasha Hamilton our Patron of This
Charity
Not a word mentioned about Mouth Cancer even though Mouth Cancer Awerness is this Month
Also the money they won went to the Marie Curie Cancer a very good cause but could she not have split the money between that and the MCF

Also saw her on a talk show and again she said nothing to raise awerness

Should a patron not always be talking about or raising the profile of the work that is done by the MCF and DR Joshi.

Did she attend THE MCF walk

Any views

David

Hi David and Susan,

Being from the US, I'm not aware of who Natasha Hamilton is and don't know what program you are referring to.

I just wanted to say though that ever since I've become aware of oral cancer (having it), I sometimes find myself becoming upset over all the publicity that other types cancers receive yet you rarely ever hear about Oral cancer. I know it's selfish on my part, all cancers are significant, and I do feel bad feeling this way, but that's just how it is.

Best wishes to us all, Cricket

Natasha Hamilton - well at least she is willing to be patron I suppose. The fact that she is young was probably meant to mean the message got through to younger people but I'm not convinced. Anyway she's a pop singer of dubious quality. She was in Atomic Kitten. I am now looking on her myspace page to ase if she mentions it and gues what? She doesn't. I think I will send her a message. Why not!
I agree Cricket - oral cancer just doesn't get mentioned. It's weird really when you think how seruious it is but somehow it doesn't figure in the public consciousness at all.

All the best to one and all I will post if Natasha gets back to me!

Tony

The Mouth Cancer Foundation is very grateful that Natasha decided to support our small and unknown charity as she already has many existing commitments to other large charities. I'm sure she does more than her fair share for charity and so we should not try to put pressure and expect too much.

The reason we asked her to be our patron was to use her face and name to help raise the credibility and profile of our small charity - especially when no other celebrity who was closely affected by mouth cancer would support us. We're extremely lucky to be able to use her to model our Mouth Cancer Foundation t-shirt and wristband as well as be the friendly young face on our website and leaflets.

Please be positive about any support she can give!

Just to let you know, we're always open to more celebrity patrons who have a little time just to lend their name and face. I've recently been talking to some famous faces so watch this space!

Chloe, I've bottled it and asked the wife to go in and get me one Lol.
Good on you for still collecting the ink, despite the pain you've been through. I think tattoo pain is theraputic really. At least it's pain through choice which is always better. Can you post a pic when it's done?. Hagg.
