Bank holiday.

I had a good bank holiday, I fell off a scaffolding at home and landed on my face. It was only about 3 ft but I've broke my nose and cut or bruised just about everything else lol.
I'm accident prone anyway so it's no big shock, I was lucky I didn't break more. I hate DIY, next time I'll pay someone else to do it. Hagg.

Hello Hagg

Sorry to hear that. Hope your nose is feeling better. The Bank Holiday weather here was windy. I took the opportunity to stay indoors and rest Wink

Best wishes

You don't do things by half do you Hagg! Hope you are soon recovered and paying someone else to do it sounds like a good idea to me.

Take care

love Mum

Hagg, I feel for you. I've mildly electrocuted myself, fallen off a ladder more than once, and managed to step in a nearly full can of paint, all in the name of DIY. I bruised a few ribs on one occasion and it was so painful that I can't imagine what people go through that break them. My problem is that I'm impatient and rather than getting down off a ladder to move it over in order to continue painting, I'll lean over until the ladder begins to topple. Sigh.

I've remedied this by going to Home Depot (I don't know if you have them but am sure you have something similar - huge Big Box stores that contain everything but don't seem to have employees that are of even marginal help) and hiring illegals that hang out in front of the stores or on adjacent street corners, waiting to be picked up for work. I don't have a problem with illegal Mexican workers - I've been surrounded and worked, studied and lived with them all my life, particularly in this agricultural area - and pay them at least 1-1/2 times minimum wage or more (anyone with a problem with this can contact me via PM.) They do the job quickly, correctly, efficiently, and manage to clean up after themselves upon completing the job. I drive them back to where I found them and everyone is happy.

When I first saw your signoff signature, "Nearly 11 years and still kicking it," I thought you meant nearly 11 years of kicking the smoking habit. Now I realize it's been 11 years since you underwent treatment. What a remarkable guy you are to stick around offering help to us newbies (n00bs as the young un's text).

Thanks so much! You're both an inspiration and a lousy DIY-er.

Mimi

Thanks everyone. Vinod, I'm glad you rested over the bank holiday, you deserve it.
Mum, in future I'm paying someone to do all the DIY, my wife makes a better job of it than me too so if she wants to do it I dont mind.
Mimi, you crack me up, wicked sense of humour. Your DIY disasters are on the same lines as mine, I wish we had some mexicans around here Big Grin.
Hopefully people will see the 11 years bit and it'll give them a lift to know that there can be life after the dark times. Hagg.

Dear Hagg,
I liked that last bit from Mimi - an inspiration and a lousy DIYer. I am tempted to say it so I might as well - I told you so!!!!!
Take care and love,
Ananth
