Dear Alan,
I never ever take offence as I have an unusual name even by Indian standards. Most people spell my name or call me Anan'd' - which in turn means happiness. Mine on the other hand Ananth means - The Immortal.
My life has changed a lot and today its more prone to see others happy and whatever little I can do gives me a lot of satisfaction. Its as the saying goes - when I was born, I was crying and everyone else was laughing but when I go I want to be the one laughing and everyone else crying!!! And on the subject - you too have a great sense of humor but your Hindi is lousy. I guess I will have to start a new discussion - called "Hinglish" and get you all to enroll!!
Love,
Ananth

Ananth, Thanks for the words again. I would like to get into counselling at some point. Especially with younger adults. I was 28 when diagnosed and felt I was on my own. Most sufferes being a lot older.
Please feel free to call me Hagg. My wife, parents, sister, friends,ex McMillan nurse etc etc all call me that. It was even written over my bed in hospital with my "other" name underneath.
It might seem strange to people but it is what I have been called since I was in infant school and I do prefer it. Big Grin

Dear Hagg
I understand one thing and learnt this a long time ago and that is there is never "thanks between friends". I feel I am lucky that I was diagnosed at 42 and not at the young age that you were. It really would be great if you would start counseling the younger adults and giving some of your time to children- who really do not know why they are in pain and cannot express themselves. Thats only if you are up it.

I have always led a hectic life and have tried and lived life to the best I could. Its not that I ever imagined I would be struck with cancer but it was just my impulsivenes to do a whole lot of things together and I did succeed. Its a crazy lifestyle I have led and it seems to be just carrying on and on.

With all that you have been through, keeping your age in view I honestly think you would do a great favor to meet people( in various gatherings ) and tell them of of your story and why certain things should not be done. Trust me - it leaves a massive impact on many but the others who feel that it cannot happen to them are in the majority. Its only when it hits do they realise.

Keep messaging on your progress - it will be really fantastic to hear from you. I am just a guy who meddles in everyones life, trying to get a smile on their faces and forget the pain that they have gone or going thru as I can relate with each one of them.

Take care Hagg and hoping to see you very often here on the message board.

Love,
Ananth

It took me a long time to get where I am today but I would like to help other people, especially people in their 20's and 30's. I had a very unhealthy lifestyle and thought it would never happen to me. I agree that most people have the same outlook until it hits them. I dont think I would have coped with not being able to eat solids for 7 years. I have recovered enough to eat and drink again which I'm eternally gratefull for. Your words are very uplifting Ananth. People on the forum must take great comfort from you.

Hi,
My big 50 is on the 30th July.
BUT, I'm not a birthday person, or a Christmas person either, Bah, humbug!.
My special days are the days I see my sons and my grandsons and am able to spend time with them.
My eldest grandson, Andrew, who's main sentence at the moment is "I'm tree (Irish accent) in August, and I have a very special bond. He calls me not nana, not gran or granny or any other wrinklie names, he calls me ONEWAY.
I'll explain if anyone wants to know.
For me to see him on his third birthday, when last year shortly after his second, I was diagnosed with stage four cancer, is all the birthday I need to celebrate. I'm determined to see his 4th, 5th, 6th and on and on.

Hi Hagg,
Good for all of us I would think. Pick your goal and go for it! And if you find others along the way go for them too!

Ha Ha, Angiebaby,
Laugh at the thought of my nipples would you. That's nothing on a Nangie! It made me automatically think of unmentionable parts! (Thats both of us done it now, we'd better clean up our act before we get barred fron the message board!)
Andrew calls me Oneway because of the Blondie song. "One way or another, I'm going to find ya, I'm going to get ya, get ya, get ya". When he first started responding to play, I used to sing it to him and when I got to "get ya" used to tickle him. When he started moving around, I used to chase him singing it.
When he was first born his mum went through terrrible post natal depression. At that time I was working four days on, four days off. I used to stay everynight to help her and on my four days off took him to stay at my house (the special bond). Anyway, first words were Dada, then Oneway. Everyone calls me it now. Even the friends off my son and his partner who knew me before as, Sue, Susie, Susan, Suze call me Oneway.
My other grandson Leon, Andrews little brother, who was one in March and whom I love to bits too, is jus starting to talk. At the moment he calls me One, so I guess the Oneway is here to stay. Isn't it great though to have a unique name!

Girls Girls, Susie and Angie I think there is a sub comic plot somewhere but my radar caught "nipples" and I was hooked, Ha ha. Lowering the tone never.

Suzie,
I forgot to mention my wife Sonya's mother is Irish and a pure blooded one at that. I have no idea as to how she met my father in law but it was love at first sight and that led to my getting a lovely wife.

Lots of love,
Ananth

Hi,
Angie, No I dont think we are lowering the tone at all. We should keep it up really, lets all have a good belly laugh toghether.

Alan, thanks for the compliment. Do you and Ananth get them from the same book? You are a pair of smooth talkers! ha ha.

Ananth, I'm not actually Irish. I'm from the North of England originally but have lived over here for many years now. It's a lovely country and I don't think I'll ever move again. (Unless I can catch a nice rich man, who'd like to buy me a villa in a warm country)

Suzie,
What do you think about a nice villa on costa del sol - the bright sunshine and all. I would have loved to have bought the villa but unfortunately circumstances do not permit me that luxury. It would have been great if I could invite everyone here on the site as it would be one big party!!
Not Irish and from North England - I must remember that for future reference.
Lots of love,
Ananth
