Hi..New Here!!!....

I have been here a few times just looking around..
I decided to join tonight!!
I am totally freaked out...but I do have a specialists appointment on Wed. I've had a problem with the roof of my mouth for awhile...Everytime I go to the dentist i ask him what is hurting there...he says he sees nothing...it feels like I've been sucking on a hard candy. After reading in here...and now developing ear pain...I freaked and told him I want to see someone. I also went to my GP...I've already been to an ENT Spec....he looked around...because I also have a hoarse voice every now and again...He put a tube down my nose and seen nothing. If I have mouth cancer....do you think he would have seen something....or is this a Oral Surgeons job?....I have that appoinment this week.
Just curious what thier job is to look for...Looks to me like I have a tiny tiny...mark...looks almost like a little cut...but nothing is open...I felt around there tonight..AND OMG I think I found a little bump....Now I am really freaked!!
HELP!!

Cassandra, WELCOME to RDOC. Please please calm down. I find it very hard to believe that 2 Doctors have looked and haven't found a thing yet you still think there is something. IT ISN'T CANCER UNTIL THEY SAY IT IS! Remember that. Okay. Every little bump or ache in the mouth doesn't mean it is CANCER! You sound so upset, Please don't be. Try not to go nuts over this...I know it is hard not to, esp. when you have read all our stories. If there is something there the dentist surely would have seen it, or the ENT. The oral surgeon will that is for sure......Please don't leave us hanging here. Keep us informed on what is going on with you..Okay. You need to talk we are here...I want you to try to calm down some tho....Bless your heart. Wish I was there with you , so you wouldn't be so afraid....Thinking of you, Vicki Lynn

Hello Cassandra

Vicki is right. You need to calm down. THe ENT specialist is familiar with looking at the throat and tonsil and ear area while the oral and maxillofacial surgeon is familiar with the mouth, tongue area. Both would examine your neck. So you are in pretty good hands - they don't want to miss anything.

Nice boutique website -but nothing I can wear Frowner

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:

Hello All;
Special Hello to Vickie Lynn and Dr. Joshi

I went to the Oral Surgeon today....Thinking by 130pm...my life would be changing direction....I was really prepared for the worse.
I did not mention in the message that I've been a smoker for 35+ years ect.....So I had reason for concern...
Turns out I have something...which he called...common....some tiny bone right where the soft pallate starts...I also have TMJ..
Now I just went to the ENT...he did not check me like this DR. Boy I almost hit the roof!!...
I am also doing lots of biting on my tongue...and underneath my tongue....I'm not even sure if I mentioned that...But everything on the right side has been sore for about 2 years.. He thinks a Bridge on the bottom right side may corrct...but he says maybe not. Mouth Gaurds.....he's not too sure about...they take up space in your mouth...and can cause other issues....
I wanted to kiss this guys feet when I left!!
Actually, I was so dazed....I could not believe...and did not hear half of the good stuff he was saying...
Thank God! My husband came with me in the room!

Just to let you all know..I Have had such a short time here..but the care and thoughts will truly never be forgotten!!
This is a GREAT SITE.......
Very Informative...and Very Important for everyone.....Oral problems are never talked about!!

I'd like to ask permission to add this link to our links page. That page is related to our business....but I will somehow put it by itself!!
We receive over 700,000 hits during busy times....And I would like to get the word out.

Once Again!!
I'm Very Happy to have found this site!!

I'm Glad all is well with me....
This is just another tid-bit of information that can be added...to help other people going through what I just went through!!

I Thank You All!!

I will drop in often....If I can help...I will!!

God Bless!!
And
Thank You So Much!!

Hi Cassandra

Great news. For TMJ and tongue chewing and clenching problem, try my 'splint of air' advice. Good luck and keep well.

A link would be welcome. Ask Krishan to send you a link logo.
Soapbox By the way, it is never too late to stop smoking.

Best wishes
