I posted a suggestion under Vicki's """Look at all the people""" suggesting a """do-it-yourself""" blue ribbon campaign and so far Clare has """joined-up""" - Well done Clare, your encouragement is just what I needed to take action!
I later thought the idea was a bit hidden away so here I am putting it under its own topic - but you will have to go to the original posting to read it- nothing comes easy!!
I welcome your comments and any suggestions/questions you might have.
Cheers

This has broken a dream, I was dreaming in the same lines, although I had in my dream a shaded blue ribbon from pale through mid to a darker blue and for an emblem the delphinium flower as it is tall and comes in every shade of blue, in my dream I had Hermes in Paris bring out a special scarf and ties with these flowers in all these colours, was this a dream or could it come true ???????????

Wow! What a dream - I think you should research that idea and see what happens. It's a bit ambitious to pull off for this year but who knows - next year? I'm a great believer in """following your dream""" so go for it!
In the meantime, does anyone know why a blue ribbon? Or the shade. Without that info I'm just going to bash on with what I can get my hands on!

Hi Vicki I told you you would be a star, maybe not at Universal Studios but for your consultant - great eh!
Apparently the colour is pale blue so maybe we should go for a darker shade and """do our own thing"""! I'm waiting for the information pack to arrive to get a better idea of how to play this. I might have a word with my dentist to see if he has any slant on this. I don't want a charitable effort to turn into a legal wrangle. I understand that there will be charlatants out there who want to rip of a fundraising event so it must be carried out """doubly bona fido""" to quote Victoria Wood! (hope you have heard of her - UK comedienne)
You very kindly said this was my idea but actually I think Paul set the ball rolling some time back. So it's down to each one of us to take the initiative and do SOMETHING positive to raise awareness of this dreadful cancer. I would love to hear suggestions (such as yours for a different colour). Maybe Dr J has an opinion on this.
No Vicki I haven't had the op to reduce the flap yet. I went into hospital and one hour before I was to """go down""" the anaesthetist decided he wasn't happy doing it in a """day theatre""" as apparently there had been problems getting the tube down at my big operation. So I'm playing the waiting game again and, as you know, that could be some time yet.
Did you get any news about the trachie coming out?
Cheers x

Hi all you Brave People oout there, called the Richard and Judy Show this morning and left a message re the 7th Nov and asked if they would feature it on the show. For next year I would like to get someone like Rick Stein ( Chef ) or even the angry one, as they are always going on about food; Let them be aware of US, who cannot now have the pleasure of the table ( I lived in France most of my life and only ate fab food and drank fab wine, now all that is gone, live on bland mush, and over cooked pasta, What about Nigella, but now that John Diamond has gone perhaps see would not be interested. Re the shaded blue Ribbon, the idea was that there are many shades of throat cancer, re each ones of us bears the agony; blue was the colour used for the virgin, blue is the colour of the sky on a good day, blue raises our hopes, blue is the colour of the tropical seas, I see Blue as a very positive colour.!!!!
